The Patriot Premier
The Weekly Update for NPHS families, May 11 - May 15, 2020
Last Full Week of School !
Hello Patriots,
The last day of school for students is Tuesday, May 19th. That means official teacher-student zooming and remote instruction will soon end as we break for the summer.
The school building is currently undergoing extensive cleaning and sanitation. Because of this, the last day to retrieve personal items is this coming Tuesday, May 12th. After this date, all remaining personal items will be donated to charity or disposed of. Please come by the school Monday or Tuesday between 7:30 am and 2:30 pm to pick up any personal items you may have...because after Tuesday, May 12th, that won't be possible.
All School Textbooks and Chromebook computers need to be returned to the school by this Friday, May 15th. You can drop these off at the flagpole doors between the hours of 7:30 am - 2:30 pm M - F. After May 15th, fees will be assigned to students who still have school textbooks and computers.
North Pole High Boulevard is now "the Senior Hall of Fame Lane!" Nearly 140 custom vinyl posters were erected by the volunteers along the road on Friday. They will remain for a week then given to each senior. Be sure to drive by and see this tribute to our graduating class of 2020. A huge thanks to the Larnetia Skipps family and Chris Ballek for organizing this.
Commencement this year has been pre-recorded and is being broadcast and streamed on Channel 11 TV Thursday, May 14th, at 7 pm. It will also become live on FB and YouTube immediately following the airing of this event. Also, listen for radio shoutouts every evening on FM 101.1 and FM 104.7 beginning this Monday at 8:20 pm (that's 2020 in 24-hour time). Congratulations NPHS Class of 2020, we're proud of you!
Friday, May 15th, from 11 am - 3 pm, at the bus doors of NPHS, counselors will have curb-side pick up for seniors. Seniors, please stop by and pick up your diploma, graduation program, academic letter, and any awards you may have received.
Migrant ED students will receive a free life jacket this week. Watch for the days and times on the district's website here if you are a Migrant ED family in the North Pole area. The distribution will take place at the bus doors of NPHS.
What will school look like next Fall? We will discuss that in then next and last newsletter. Until then, have a good last full week of school, and stay safe!
Sincerely,
John Fink
Interim Principal
