Extended Closure Staff To-Dos
Be available to families during the week from 9:00-2:00.
Come into Belair Monday and/or Tuesday to work on the following tasks...
1. Complete 3rd quarter grades on Infinite Campus - these are to be done by Monday, March 30 (7 AM,). Let Valerie know as soon as you are done. Grades should be sent in homework packets.
2. Check in on all families through a phone call. Specific questions will be given for you to ask all families. You will be asked to track responses on a GoogleSheet - coming soon. Classroom teachers, this would be the students in your room.
1. We miss you. How are you doing?
2. Did you get the materials we mailed to you? (Is there an updated address we need to use?)
a. Do you have any questions about those materials?
b. Do you want us to continue to mail information home or would you prefer to
have the materials on your device / electronically?
3. Do you have internet at home?
a. Is the technology we sent working at home?
Are you familiar with how to request technology help?
4. Do you have enough food at home?
a. Are you going to one of the schools to pick up food during the extended closure?
b. Do you need delivery of school breakfast/ lunch?
SPED, Coulselor, BI, etc... check in on the kids you see/serve. Librarian/AMP - check in on a few from each grade level - you would not be asking the same questions. Just checking in.
3. Plan for a "Week 2" packet of work to be mailed home, along with 3rd quarter grade cards. Have it approved by Elizabeth (scan and email it if I am not in the building). Copy once approved. Stuff, seal, and label envelopes to be sent home. Packets must be ready by Wednesday, April 1 by 12:00.
Packet expectations - LESS = MORE! What ENGAGING activities can you do? How can you use technology to check in with your students, help students/parents, etc... Give them tasks that they can do WITH their parents, siblings, or family members - baking/cooking, exploring, writing notes to friends or family members, reading a book together, doing a puzzle, etc... Not all work needs to be worksheets!
4. Update Digital Literacy Wall with March GRL and Infinite Campus with GRL where student's left off in groups.
5. Plan conferences - what needs to be shared with parents. This will come after they have gotten the grade cards.
6. Check iReady minutes/lessons passed. If families have not gotten on at this point, is it a technology issue? Reshare usernames/passwords if they need and offer assistance.
*** IEP Meetings will be scheduled. Teachers of those students will be required participants. Meetings will be conducted remotely, through Zoom, Google Hangout, etc...
*** If this list is updated/changed, I will let you know.***
Working in the Building
We need a plan for how you will get this work done while remaining distant from each other. I have attached a google sheet for you to sign-up for times to work on Monday and Tuesday. I have also included Saturday and Sunday, because I know that some of you will want to get it done:) Please sign up for shifts that you will be in the building. I have scheduled it so that no more than 10 people (including office staff) will be in the building at the same time. Please follow the guidelines so we can all stay safe:
1. Please use hand sanitizer before using any office or workroom equipment.
2. After using the copier or other equipment, please wipe the machine/ equipment off using the wipes provided next to the copier.
3. If you see someone else using the copier, please come back in a few minutes. Ask the person to text you when they are done.
4. Try to follow the CDC recommendation of 6 feet while in the building. Avoid contact. WHILE MANY OF US ARE HUGGERS, avoid the HUG:)
