ILEARN Results
On Monday, August 26th, ILEARN results will be available via Harmony Family Access. Parents can log into Harmony Family Access from the "Students & Parents" tab of the Scott 2 website (scsd2.k12.in.us) just like you did for online registration. Once you're logged into Harmony Family Access, check out the Standardized Tests section. Remember, this option will not be available until midday on Monday, August 26th.
If you have questions about your child's results, please contact your child's teacher or Mrs. Hammons.
No School on Labor Day
Reminder: Scott County School District 2 schools are not in session on Labor Day, which is Monday, September 2nd.
Grandparents' Day
We will celebrate Grandparents' Day on Friday, September 6th, from 8:15 - 8:45 a.m.
We will share additional details during the coming week.
Upcoming PTO Meetings, Events, and Box Tops
The first PTO meeting of the 2019-20 school year will be September 5th at 3:30 p.m. in Mrs. Banister's classroom. All VFES parents and teachers are invited and encouraged to attend.
Please mark your calendars for these upcoming PTO events:
The first book fair will be September 9-13.
The fall festival will be November 1st.
Even though the format has changed from cutting out box tops to scanning receipts for digital box tops, Vienna-Finley would still like you to participate in the box top fundraiser throughout the school year. If you have any questions about box tops, please contact the VFES office or Tammy Wolf, PTO president.
Weekly Charity Opportunities
In order to raise money for charities, PTO will be selling popcorn on Friday, September 6th and Friday, September 13th.
On Friday, September 20th, students who donate $1 can wear a hat during school.
We are hopeful that the Kona Ice truck will be at VFES during the afternoon of September 27th. We will share additional details, including price/size options, as they become available.
Links That Provide Opportunities for Home/School Communication
Car Rider Tags
If your child is a car rider and you don't already have the hanging tag for your rearview mirror, please stop by the office this week or let us know how many to send home with your child. Our new dismissal process flows much smoother when you have the car tag ready/displayed for the faculty members who are helping with dismissal. We genuinely appreciate your cooperation.
General Dismissal Information
Before and after school, parents should drop off and pick up students via the doors on the west side of the building. The only times that parents should drop off or pick up students via the front doors are during school hours (due to appointments, illness, or other circumstances that would cause students to miss part of the school day).
The YMCA After School Program
The YMCA is offering an after school program to VFES this year. Parents must complete a registration form at the YMCA in order to get their child(ren) signed up for the program. The cost is $10 per week. As of Friday, August 16th, the program is currently full; however, parents can still register their child to be put on the waiting list.
Volunteer Opportunities at VFES
Throughout the school year, there will be opportunities for adults to volunteer at VFES. In order to be eligible to help with events, chaperone field trips, and volunteer throughout the school, you must complete/submit a Volunteer Registration Form, which is located in the office. The process takes time to complete, so please turn in your form as soon as possible.
