For Your Information...
B.I.G. Meeting Information
The Building Improvement Group (B.I.G.) meets each month to discuss topic and issues that impact the entire Howell Middle community. Teachers, Support Staff, and parents are members of this committee. Feel free to attend any or all of the meetings.
Notes form each meeting will be send out following the monthly meeting. It is important to review those meeting notes as decisions are being made at B.I.G. that will impact the entire staff and our community.
Teachers with Schoology accounts: you have to go in and delete former students or they continue to see your updates. It clutters up their calendar and newsfeed with information they no longer need.
Bus Evacuations
Just an FYI, yearly bus evacuation drills will take place in the morning on Wednesday, October 7th at drop off. This should not impact the school day at all.

Dr. Lee sent our our Mid-Quarter CUES survey. Please complete this by next Tuesday, September 15th. The survey will close at the end of the school day on the 15th. This information will help us assess our goal progress. Thank you.
A visit with Ted...
Please contact Mrs. Goeke to set up a time to meet with Dr. Huff. This will be short 15 minute chat. Look at your calendar and see what dates and times work best for your schedule. We can meet before school, during plan, during lunch, or after school.
Guiding Questions:
1. How has the start of the year been for you (compared to last year)? Or, for your 1st year at FHMS, how has it started for you?
2. Your thoughts on "all students learning at high levels".
3. What can I do to help you this year? What supports do you need from me?
Have you asked yourself…How can I help PTO/PIT Fund Raise this year? There is a hassle-free way to fund raise, it is through Shoparoo. Follow these simple steps to start the fun.
· Download Shoparoo either through Google play or the App store
· Sign up and pick Francis Howell Middle School PTO
· Go shopping and then:
• Snap pictures of your receipts
• Every Receipt Counts
• Grocery Stores Clothing Stores
• Convenience Stores Hardware Stores
• Super Centers Pet Stores
• Dollar Stores etc….
• Drug Stores
• Earn cash for your school
• Shoparoo makes a donation for every receipt you submit
• Share with your friends
• There’s strength in numbers-the more supporters we have, the more we earn.
If you are competitive, you can compete with friends, colleagues and neighbors.
Evening Supervision
A few of you have asked for the events that you signed up for, so please see the link below and mark your calendars! As you can see, there are a few events that still need your support. A few teachers attend almost every event, so there names are not listed. Thank you for supporting your colleagues.

Family and Community Engagement (FACE)
We launched our Family and Community Engagement focus with our parent leadership teams this summer. So, PTO and PIT are the new FACE of Francis Howell Middle School. They will work together to further enrich our school community by helping us with funding and providing parent education and engagement opportunities throughout the school year.
Technology
The Technology Department has recently put together a Password Self Service Portal, that can be used while you are in the district. This portal should help reduce the amount of time our Help desk spends resetting passwords, and should also help you and your students get logged in more quickly in scenarios where passwords are forgotten. For instructions on how to register for the portal, click here
