All seniors are required to complete their GRADUATION SURVEY in Naviance as part of their success plan, whether they are going to college, military, work, or have other plans. For those heading to college, the only way we will know where to send your final transcript is if you indicate your college choice in the Graduation Survey. If you do not complete the survey, your college won’t receive your final transcript. The Graduation Survey is in Naviance under “About Me” and “Surveys”.
Seniors who are unsure of their plans for after graduation should make an appointment with their counselor ASAP! You may also want to check out Pennco Tech’s Virtual Open House https://www.penncotech.edu/virtual-open-house/.

Important AP Exam Information
This letter is to remind you of the AP exam dates sent in mid-March AP Exam Information (cbsd.org)and process for set up, especially those taking any exams digitally.
-The tests you are taking are listed in your AP Collegeboard account along with the dates and times and method of delivery (in school as paper/pencil or digitally at home).
-Paper and pencil exams will have room assignments posted a couple days prior to the exam and your teachers will also be notified – all morning exams will begin 7:30 am and afternoon exams at 12:00 pm.
Students taking the digital AP exam will need to complete exam set-up ahead of each exam they are taking. The digital set-up will be available three (3) days before exam day and must be completed 24 hours prior to the exam. Students will also need to log in 30 minutes before the exam begins to complete the check-in process. Without taking these steps, students will not be able to take the exam. If the pre-exam set-up and check-in process are not completed before the official start time of the exam, the student will not be permitted to test and must request a make-up exam.
Students should download the app on their CBSD issued laptop or personal laptop or home computer.
Below is the link for set up:
Four Steps to Take Digital AP Exams - AP Central (collegeboard.org)
Please Note: Students must remember their College Board username and password to log in for each test.
All students are encouraged to use the App to help prepare for the exams regardless of the method of delivery on exam day.
Students will have access to two practice options:
· Digital Practice: A longer option students can use to fully explore the digital testing application.
· App Demo: A shorter option students can use to quickly confirm that the application is correctly installed, questions are displayed appropriately, and that questions can be answered. Students taking digital exams are strongly encouraged to complete one of these practice options. See Digital Practice for more information.
Exam Day attendance:
Students testing at home for the noon digital exams should attend first and second blocks virtually at home.
Students taking a traditional paper and pencil exam, should be prompt and arrive on time to the testing areas (7:30 am for morning exams or 12:00 pm for afternoon exams). Time is needed for distribution of materials and approximately one-half hour of instructions before the beginning of each test.
AP Statistics will be an afternoon exam that will run for three (3) hours with extra time for administrative tasks, breaks, and distribution and collection of materials. Alternate plans should be made for any after school commitments (job, sporting event(s), appointments, etc.).
No student is permitted to leave any AP testing room early for any reason. Group dismissal will take place when all testing materials are collected and counted.
Cancellations/refunds:
For attendance purposes for the paper/pencil exams, cancellation of any exam requires a parent email to the AP Coordinator (Mr. Tom Hill) at least 24 hours before the exam - thill@cbsd.org
Cancellations and/or non-participation in an exam already paid for will be eligible for a full refund through MyPaymentsPlus.
May Sparks
Over the past several months, we have shared ideas on ways to help your children find their “Spark”. For some this is a longer journey than for others. Often connected to knowing what your passion is and understanding your “purpose”. In William Damon’s (2008) book The Path to Purpose, he states, “A purpose is a deeper reason for the immediate goals and motives that drive most daily behavior.” We see this often with today’s young entrepreneurs who feel a strong social responsibility (e.g., Bombas and Thrive Market, among others).
As parents, you can facilitate discussions regarding purpose by taking the opportunity to:
-listen closely for the spark then encourage further discovery.
-take advantage of any time you have together to talk about their ideas on what is purpose;
-offer your own sense of purpose related to your life/career;
-nurture a positive outlook on life.
- impress upon children a sense of action connected to responsibility.
Schools must work hand-in-hand with families in this effort as we emphasize the importance of our children becoming good citizens of our community and the world.
There will be more to follow on this topic. For comments or questions, please contact Ginny Barrett at vbarrett@cbsd.org.
