Dear Rose Families,
I hope your family had a wonderful spring break week and found time to relax and have fun together! We have about ten weeks left of school and have a lot planned to finish the school year #Stingray Strong! Please read below for important school and district news!
Testing Updates: All 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders will begin taking the IAR test next week. Students have six sessions to take, they will take one session each day over the next two weeks. Please make sure your child has eaten a hearty breakfast, has a charged iPad, and brings a healthy snack to class. If your child is absent, he/she will make up testing sessions upon their return to school. Please note that all students in grades three, four, and five across the district are required to take this state test.
Please click here to read more about the test from Dr. Ditkowsky.
CogAT Results: 2nd and 5th graders will be bringing home their CogAT results this Friday, April 1st. Please ask your child for their envelope.
We are excited to announce our STEM Family Event for this year - The Air and Water Show Extravaganza! Families can join us for this outdoor picnic-style event on Saturday, May 14th from 9:00-11:00 am in the fields behind Station Middle School and Arnett C. Lines Elementary School.
This event features self-paced activities for families with students in grades kindergarten through 5th grade. This year's STEM challenges include "Mini Regatta," "Let it Fly," and "Teeter-Totter Water Tower." All students must be accompanied by an adult. We encourage all families to bring blankets, chairs, and small tables - whatever will make your family comfortable! Tables and chairs will not be provided.
Registration is required and is limited to the first 400 students, so please use the link within the flyer below. Please see the flyer for more information:

Speech Tournament: Rose students did an incredible job during their Speech Tournament performances. We had 91 students perform and our judges were so impressed with all of the effort and practicing students did to deliver such polished and entertaining performances! Thank you to our Rose families for coaching and supporting our Stingrays!
COVID Dashboard: We have 3 positive student COVID cases reported at Rose School this week and 1 student in quarantine. We have 0 positive staff cases to report. If you have additional questions about positive cases and quarantines, you can also check the district COVID Dashboard for up-to-date district COVID information.
Per new school guidelines, District 220 is now accepting negative home Covid test results for certain symptoms. Please review the most up-to-date IDPH guidance here.
School Year 2022-2023: Beginning in early April, the Rose staff starts the important task of developing class lists for the next school year. Classroom teachers, student support personnel and I devote considerable time and effort toward this process. If you do wish to provide the school with unique information concerning social, emotional, or academic factors, please keep the following two points in mind. Submit your thoughts in writing no later than April 22, 2022. Please note, we do not accept requests for specific teachers.
Have a wonderful week!
Regards,
