What we've been up to.
- In Math we have begun to practice writing addition facts and have been taking opinion surveys and then tallying our results.
- Our science studies have centered around the arrival of our guest bullfrog, Jeremiah. He is quite large, pretty quiet so far, and enjoys munching on crickets.
- Our study of nonfiction texts continues... We have mastered writing fun facts, drawing real diagrams, and labeling them. Ask your student to find the Table of contents in a nonfiction book!
- In honor of his March birthday, we are enjoying the literature of Dr. Seuss. Consequently, we are getting pretty good at rhyming. Some lesser know stories we've enjoyed include Wacky Wednesday and Gertrude McFuzz.
- We attended an awesome assembly with Brazilian Beats drumming troupe. There was lots of enthusiastic audience participation and we learned some words in Portuguese.

After measurement activities to gather data on foot size...
Student 1: Why is a foot (at the end of your leg) called a foot if it isn't a foot (12 inches)?
Discuss.
