Poetry Slam
The library will host the 10th Annual 8th Grade Poetry Slam on April 5 beginning at 7:30 a.m. In preparation for the event, the library will be closed on Thursday, April 4. We are very excited about the students who have signed up to participate. This promises to be one of the best ever. For those of you who are not familiar with the Poetry Slam, it is open only to the 8th grade class. Students perform poems (published and original) in front of their classmates and a group of judges. The performances are rated and the students with the highest score in each category win a cash prize.
It is great way to celebrate Poetry Month.
