February 2021 Enon Elementary School
Principal's Message
Dear Enon Families,
Welcome to February! I wanted to extend a thank you for making our first week back for face to face learning so smooth. We have made a few tweaks to our schedule this week and also to dismissal. I do have a few updates and reminders below:
Morning Arrival:
Our two lines are working well. Students should exit on the RIGHT hand side of the car and no passing is allowed for safety reasons. If you have your child exit on the left, you must get out of the car and walk them around. Please have your child ready to go, packed up and ready to exit to keep our line moving. Thank you.
Afternoon Dismissal:
It is improving each day and we thank you for your patience. Beginning on Monday, Feb. 8th, we are going to be lining up on Walnut with an overflow line up onto Rivermont (near the field). Students have also learned their number and are doing much better about hearing their numbers when called and knowing the dismissal process.
We also have several important events this month that I wanted to share below:
School Counselor's Week:
National School Counseling Week is Feb. 1-5. The week, sponsored by the American School Counselor Association (ASCA), highlights the unique contribution of school counselors within U.S. school systems and the tremendous impact they can have in helping students achieve school success and plan for a career. I realize this was last week but wanted to give a shout out to Bernadette Hawkins, Pam Neville and Christi Meyerhoeffer for their work to support our students.
Black History Month
February marks Black History Month, a tribute to African American men and women who have made significant contributions to America and the rest of the world in the fields of science, politics, law, sports, the arts, entertainment, and many other fields. Students will also have the opportunity to learn about these important contributions in our morning announcement, art lessons, library lessons and counseling lessons this month.
100th Day!
Our 100th day of school is currently scheduled to be on February 19th! We celebrate this day with special math activities.
