Nazareth Christian Fellowship
September 6, 2018
I've been thinking a lot about habits recently. I just started using a new planner (and I LOVE planners) that has me focusing on fostering a new habit each month. I couldn't think of something for August, so I decided to start in September. And wait for it...*drum roll*...my September habit is making my bed every morning. Womp womp. I know it isn't exciting, but it has been weirdly thrilling to wake up each day, make my bed, and say to myself, "well, at least you accomplished one thing today."
New semesters are a time when new routines begin. New habits form. If you're a first year student, then you are beginning a period of life where some of your long lasting habits will develop. Things like sleeping a decent number of hours, eating a fairly balanced diet, moving your body in some form of exercise, spiritual practices that help you to feel more grounded and centered. I picture a bike wheel will all of the metal spokes coming out of the center. For the wheel to be round and functioning, all of the spokes have to be the same length. There has to be air in tire. But if we are pretending this wheel is our life, when we neglect certain "spokes" we risk a flat tire. Now some of the spokes can go missing or break, but if too many do you're in for a disaster.
What new practices can you begin to foster now that will help you to be as begin a new semester? If you want to talk more about it, come by and see me. I'd love to help!
If you haven't filled out an interest form, please do so below! It's embedded in the newsletter. Once you fill out your form you can stop by my office and pick out a prize!

Harvesters Christian Fellowship: Fridays at 7 pm in GAC 151!
Iron Sharpens Iron.
Harvesters is intended to build community among Christians at Nazareth College. In fellowship, we encourage and sharpen one another in our constant pursuit of intimacy with God. We are called to ‘harvest the field’ that God has placed us in. By responding to this call with passionate worship, prayer, and service, we strive to bring revival and unity to our campus and beyond. Ultimately, our vision is to be our generation’s demonstration of an Acts church - a growing and maturing body of believers living out the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
We meet every Friday 7-9 PM in the GAC Community Room (first floor). Our time together consists of prayer, worship, and a study of scripture. If you enjoy pizza, ping pong, and healthy discussion, come join us! All are welcome.
"The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few." - Matthew 9:37
"Don't you have a saying, 'It's still four months until harvest'? I tell you, open your eyes and look at the fields! They are ripe for harvest." - John 4:35
