Mrs. Rumsey's Roundup

Week of November 30-December 4

Math: This week in math we learned about decomposing numbers. We have been talking about how when we decompose numbers, we break them apart into two smaller parts.

Reading: This week we learned about how readers visualize when they are reading stories. They make a picture in their mind and that helps them comprehend the story they have heard or read.

Writing: We have been learning about how writers make different kinds of lists. This week, we wrote a list about things that we are thankful for. We worked really hard and make our thankful turkeys! They are so cute!

Science: In Science this week, we continued learning about animal characteristics.

Scholastic Book Orders

Encouraging reading is one of the most important things we can do to help your child succeed. It can be tough finding the right books to keep them interested, which is why I am so excited that our class will be participating in Scholastic Reading Club this school year.

With Scholastic Reading Club:
- Every book you buy earns FREE Books for our classroom library
- You can choose from handpicked, grade- and reading-level-specific books for your child
- You'll find the best values on a variety of formats

You can choose from books hand-selected by teachers and experts, and then order online. If you would like to order books, visit Scholastic and enter our class activation code (J8944). Happy Reading!!
