Nichols Navigator News #5
A Leader in Me School
Sunday Announcement!
Hello Navigators,
Please note that there is no school tomorrow in recognition of Labor Day. At Nichols we promote leadership opportunities for our students. This week I had the privilege of accepting applications and conducting interviews of students who are interesting in taking important roles on campus. I was so impressed with these students and look forward to helping them build their leadership skills. Soon we will have student leaders taking on new responsibilities around campus.
We are in need of parents to be part of our School Site Council. This important role helps us determine budget needs, address school safety and plan other ways to improve our school. If you are interested in joining please fill out this survey.
Regular attendance is critical for success and students can quickly fall behind with just a few absences. We value every minute we have with our students and being consistently tardy can have a negative impact. Please do your best to ensure your student's attendance is as consistent as possible.
Mark your calendar for our Back to School Night. It will be held on September 13th. The evening will begin with our monthly PTO meeting at 5 PM followed by a presentation in the MPR and classroom visits from 6-7 PM. Please note this event is to communicate school and classroom expectations and is designed for adult attendance.
If you have not done so already, we need ALL families to complete the following two forms related to school meals.
All meals will continue to be free of charge for students.
We also need all families to complete the Data Confirmation so please complete if you have not done so yet.
See this flyer about some upcoming Love and Logic classes. These are amazing classes that can help all parents. I have taken the classes and it has helped me both as an educator and parent.
We are looking forward to a great week.
