News!

We have a lot to look foward to this month in the NPES Learning Commons!


  • March 2 is Dr. Seuss' birthday and we will be celebrating February 25 - March 1 with Seuss themed centers and displays throughout the library.


  • D’Etta Broam (PHES School Counselor) and I will host a Healthy Mind & Body Workshop for Biggest Loser folks (and anyone else who might want to join) on Wednesday, March 27 from 3pm – 4pm in the NPES Learning Commons. We’ll do some yoga and share some healthy snack/lifestyle ideas.


  • We are gearing up for a busy April...be sure to mark your calendars for our author visit (April 10); Meet @ Main (April 18); and the Columbia Blowfish Reading Program (the whole month of April!)

About Us

The Vision and Mission of the New Providence Elementary School Learning Commons is to ensure that students are effective users of ideas and information in regards to both print and online resources. We strive to provide library media materials and services appropriate to the curriculum of the school and to provide library media materials and services that meet the information and recreational needs of the learning community and that will encourage the 4 C's - Critical Thinking, Collaboration, Creativity, and Communication. We provide opportunities for collaboration between the Learning Commons Specialist, the Technology Integration Specialist, and the Classroom Teacher to integrate information literacy and technology into instruction.
