Dear Mary Williams' Families:
Thank You to all of you who came to the Bike Rodeo and Spring Craft Fair. We had lots of fun! In addition to that, the art show took place on Saturday. We had a lot of students showcase their work at Hylton High School. Our PTO is planning many great events coming your way. We hope to see you there to support us.

Watchdogs
SOL Information Night- Grades 3-5
What are SOL's? What do they mean to child's education? How is my students doing? How can I support my students at home? Join us for an informational night where we will go over the assessment with you and share the current status of your individual student. We will provide you with valuable strategies to help your child be successful during this testing season.

Time- 6-7 p.m.

Get Involved! Become Part of Our PTO
We are planning for next year. If you are interested in becoming part of out PTO we want to talk to you about it. Contact the school for more details.
Attendance Matters
State Assessments are around the corner, and with that comes intensive preparation for our students. Our teachers are working hard to plan and provide students with learning experiences that cannot be achieved if they are absent. We ask that you ensure your student is in school everyday and limit trips to Spring Break if possible. Below are important dates:
March 14-18- SOL released test (predictor for students in grades 3-5) Reading
March 28-April 1- Benchmark Assessment for students in grades K-2-Reading
April 11-15- 3rd Quarter Writing Assessment for all grades
May- PALS testing for grades K-3
May 9-June 15- SOL's take place

KIndergarten Registration is coming!
Kindergarten Registration is on April 7 & 21, 2016 from 9:30 am - 12:00 pm & 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm. If you cannot make those dates or times, please call the office in advance to schedule an appointment. Please share this information with your friends and neighbors who might have rising kindergarten students.
There will be Registration packets available in the Front Office, please feel free to pick up one any time Monday through Friday (except holidays) between the hours of 8:00 am and 4:30 pm. If you pick up a packet and fill it out at home then bring it along with the following on one of the registration dates, it will expedite your time with us.
The following items are needed to register your student:
- Student's Original Birth Certificate (copies not permitted)
- School Entrance Physical (this must be dated within one year of the student starting in Virginia)
- Student's Immunization Records (must have 4 DPT and 4 Polio vaccines, 3 Hep B's, 2 MMR's, and 2 Varicella vaccines)
Need THREE Proofs of Residency:
- ONE must be the Contract, Deed, or Lease on home address
- PLUS TWO of the following: Drivers license, Utility Bill(s), Voter Registration, Vehicle Registration, Other billings
Please note that school for the 2016-17 school year begins on August 29, 2016. Our school is closed for transfers. Only those living in attendance areas will be enrolled.
