SCES TIGER POST
OCTOBER EDITION
PRINCIPAL'S CORNER
I hope that everyone has had a wonderful start to the 2021-22 school year. It has certainly been an exciting and smooth start to what promises to be a fantastic school year. Although no one can deny that COVID-19 poses a challenge, with your help, the faculty and staff of Sussex Central Elementary will continue to work hard to ensure the safety of our students. We feel confident that our health and safety protocols are strong, consistent, and working well.
With our health measures in place, Sussex Central Elementary School has been able to remain a busy and exciting place. While some normalcy has returned, so has state testing. This year we will be administering several assessments including PALS, VKRP, Student Growth Assessments, and division-wide assessments.
Parents are reminded that the school opens at 8:00 a.m. and the school day ends at 3:00 p.m., with pickup immediately after. We know that traffic continues to be challenging, but we are always working on ways to make it better. I will need your help in ensuring that our students do not miss any of their instructional time. We realize we have gaps in learning and we are working hard to provide instruction each day. Keeping this in mind, communication is essential and we strive to connect to our students, parents, families, and community each day. We will continue reaching out to you with robocalls, instant alerts, Class Dojo, and the School Info app. We also encourage you to follow our social pages including Facebook, Twitter, and the division website.
As always, we wish to express our appreciation toward our entire school community. We are also here to answer any questions that you may have and to support you with resources so that your child will be successful this school year. I thank you and may you have a safe, healthy, and happy fall season!
Sincerely,
Denise Webb, Principal
