ABJ Scots Week at a Glance (SWAG)
November 14 - 18, 2022
Sunday, November 13 is Catholic Education Sunday. In this week's OLPH Parish Bulletin, Father Jim communicates a wonderful message about the importance of Catholic education and the relationship between home, school, and parish. Here is a portion of his message.
Have you considered why it is so important for us to value publicly funded Catholic Education? Why should we joyfully celebrate that our young people are receiving their academic education in a Catholic ambience? Simply put, these young people are the ones, we pray, will fill our pews a generation from now. It is well known that parents are the primary educators of their children in the faith. It is equally as well known that many parents do not feel equipped to teach their children the faith. This is often through no fault of their own, as they not have been raised in a Catholic ambience themselves. It is difficult to give what you have not received. All this to say, our Catholic schools play a pivotal role in providing a venue for our children to come to know that our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ wants to be their friend.
This Sunday, ABJ has partnered with St. Isidore Learning Centre to to host the 7:00 pm mass at OLPH in celebration of Catholic Education Sunday. We would love to see as many ABJ staff, students, and family present as possible! Wear your Scots gear! Please join us for hospitality and fellowship following the Mass.

Thank you to special guests Father Jim, The Honourable Nate Glubish, Mayor Rod Frank, and Constable Desiree Matlock for their presence at our ceremony. Special thanks goes out to Mrs. Nevada Moes for her work with both choir and band, Mr. James Grondin and his crew for the livestream of the ceremony, and to Mrs. Glass, Mr. Gabinet, and Miss Fitzgerald for their hard work in planning this important ceremony.

Student Council Looking for Recipes to Celebrate Diversity
Student Council is hoping to find new ways to celebrate the diversity of our school this year. As such, we are hoping to collect family, cultural, or favourite recipes from our ABJ Community. If you are willing to share, please email your recipes to our student council advisor Jaimee.Boake@eics.ab.ca for them to be compiled into an ABJ cook book of sorts to be shared at a later date.
