A Note To the PTO From Mr. Rob Surette: THANK YOU PTO for sponsoring this event!
Thank you SO MUCH for inviting me to share my talents and positive messages with your school's WONDERFUL students today.
What an AWESOME school Chatham Elementary School is!
I believe in kids’ potential and I do believe in the value of self-empowerment, kindness and chasing one’s dreams.
And my show is MEANT to shake / stir kids up in a powerful way…
(I did see lots of kids moved to tears during my show.)
My messages are a reflection of my Life’s Work…
And I really wanted them to have an experience which makes them think about life in a wonderful, optimistic way.
I also love addressing trials and tribulations during my show, because they are a part of life.
All in all, I wanted kids to have a HEIGHTENED experience of LIFE…
Celebrating all that’s good in life, opening their minds, reaching their hearts, empowering them with inner strength and self love, and preparing them to bravely go where their hearts direct them.
And I’m very grateful for the opportunity.
Maybe if you’d like to share my sentiments with your staff…
There might be kids today who wish to process some of their emotional experiences from my show when they get to school tomorrow.
Have a WONDERFUL rest of the year!
I wish you all nothing but THE BEST in LIFE!
THANK YOU!!!
Rob

Weekly Article: "Ask Me About..."
Each week the grade level teams will publish two to three statements for caregivers to use as conversation starters with their child(ren). Although the Scoop is a great place to see and discuss end-of-learning products, these "ask me about" conversation starters will help promote discussions about current learning. Media Center News:
Mrs. King's Class News
This week we read our last fairy tale, The Three Billy Goats Gruff. We had many opportunities to dramatize the story.

We are learning new sight words and are beginning to use them in our writing. We are continuing with graphics practice, write alongs and center plan writing.
We are practicing counting and numeral writing.
We did experiment to show the germs that are on our hands last week. We cut an apple in half and rubbed our hands along the top of the apple half. Then we washed our hands an repeated the activity. One week later we checked the apple and there was a remarkable difference!

News from the Nurse:
We have begun our unit on fall. Students have been studying the signs of fall. We have learned why leaves change color. Also, we have discussed our favorite things to do in the fall.
At the art table, we have decorated wax paper leaves, apples and fall trees. At the academic table, we counted apples using our touch math numbers. Later, we played apple number bingo. On the Promethean board, we sorted apples by color, size, and number of seeds.
Monday morning and Tuesday afternoon, the therapy dogs came to visit. The morning dogs are Tucker, Ashley, Carly, and Sky. The afternoon dogs are Garbo and Toffee.
Have a great weekend!
