A Few New Reminders



Upcoming Field Trip


Students were handed out a permission slip for a field trip to the College Basketball Experience. This trip will be for Mavericks students only. A copy of the permission slip and information is below; it is crutial that all permission slips are TURNED IN BY FRIDAY, APRIL 15TH so that reservations can be made.

Class Information

Math Students are going to continue to order rational and irrational numbers, placing them on a number line. The numbers students will order are written in various forms (decimals, square roots, fractions, mixed numbers, etc.). Thus we must understand what numbers mean in different forms to be able to place them on the number line. Announcement:Unit 8, Week 2 homework was given today and is due Friday. We will also take Unit 8, Quiz 2 on Friday,


Science Today in science, students will be starting a human body systems project. We will be creating a life size poster of the human body and drawing in the various parts of the organ system that we are assigned.


Social Studies- Student will continue creating questions about the Civil War! They are using Avid strategies and Costa Level of thinking to create High Level Questions


English Language Arts - We are reading chapter 3 of The Outsiders and working on our diaclectal journal.

I-Ready The I-Ready program provides students with lessons and assessments to strengthen their knowledge Math and ELA concepts. The Math and ELA teachers use this program in class frequently, and will use the students' scores on the assessments that follow the lessons in their grade books. We strongly encourage students working on lessons at home if possible. Simply write the check to Scholastic and turn it into Mrs. Goodwin. Monthly paper catalogues are available in Mrs. Goodwin's room as well.
