Power Outage at Pine Hill Tuesday

Due to a scheduled PG&E power outage in the Pine Hill area, in-person instruction at Pine Hill will start on Wednesday. Instruction on Monday and Tuesday will be done through distance learning. Teachers will communicate their class times with parents.


South Bay's first day of in-person instruction is Tuesday as scheduled. We can't wait to see you this week!

Help us Plan for Meal Pickup

In order to better gauge the number of meals to plan for this year, we are asking for your help. Please complete the following survey to provide your plans regarding participation in the SBUSD meal program. Thanks for your assistance!

Please do not drop off students early!

Starting Wednesday, Pine Hill's campus opens at 8:00 am for the morning cohort and 11:45 am for the afternoon cohort of in-person instruction.


Starting Tuesday, South Bay's campus opens at 8:15 am for the morning cohort and 12:00 pm for the afternoon cohort of in-person instruction.


We are unable to accommodate students arriving on campus prior to these times. There will not be breakfast served or playtime prior to school starting. Students will have their health screening confirmed and then go straight to their classroom. Thank you for your assistance in keeping our campus safe!

MASK INFO

Reminder - as we come back on campus for instruction wearing masks is a requirement for everyone on campus.


Neck Gaiters and face shields without drapes are not acceptible. The schools will be distributing reusable masks for every student. Please make sure to follow the CDC guidelines for proper care and cleaning. Thank you for being a part of the solution! Self-Screening Required

Prior to entering either the Pine Hill or South Bay campus, all staff and community members must self-screen for COVID-19 symptoms. Please use the CDC Self-Checker to check to see if you have any symptoms. If you are symptomatic at all, please stay home and contact your health care service provider.


When we come back on campus, parents will need to complete the CDC Self Checker for all children before coming to school. Staff will be asking at the entrance gates about this. THIS IS A DAILY REQUIREMENT! Please help us ensure that in-person instruction continues to be an option by doing your part to keep our campuses safe and healthy.

Site Council Openings

There are openings on all three Site Councils. Pine Hill will meet on the second Monday of each month, South Bay meets monthly on 3rd Tuesday of the month, and South Bay Charter meets monthly on 3rd Thursday of the month. The commitment is about an hour a month.


Help each school develop plans to improve the educational experience for all of our students. Contact either Tim Grimmett (Pine Hill) or Heather Becksted (South Bay) for more information.

Food Distribution is now only for SBUSD students

Pine Hill/South Bay will be providing food twice a week for SBUSD students only. Pick up will be at South Bay School from 11:00-1:00 Tuesday and Friday, by the back of the cafeteria. Due to the return to school, food will only be available for Pine Hill and South Bay students currently enrolled.

We have plenty of diapers for families that are in need! We are also currently signing families up for our weekend food bag program through Food For People. This program will start on October 9. Please call to check for availability at 707-445-5933. We look forward to working with you!

Reserve Your Library Books for Pickup!

Library book curbside pickup will continue this week!

You or your student may now reserve books online using their Chromebook! For distance learning students, South Bay pickups will be on Tuesdays from 11:00-1:00 & Pine Hill pickups will be on Monday from 11:30-1:30. Allison will be outside near the curb with a cart of the reserved library books. For students on campus, books will be given to them to bring home.

Box Tops for Education

We are still collecting Box Tops for both Pine Hill and South Bay Schools! If you have any of the paper or plastic ones, please drop them by either of the schools by OCTOBER 28. You can leave them on the library book curbside pickup cart at South Bay School on Tuesdays from 11:00-1:00 or at Pine Hill School's curbside pickup day on Mondays from 11:30-1:30. You may also drop them off at either school's front office with the school secretary.

The new way for the schools to get Box Tops credits is to scan your grocery receipts with a free phone app you can get for your smartphone on Apple's AppStore or GooglePlay. Thank you for continuing to support both of the schools' libraries in this way!
