Health and Safety Update
Bethel-Tate Local Schools
August 9, 2021
Dear Staff, Parents, and Caregivers,
On Friday, August 6, the Ohio Department of Health released the latest guidelines for quarantine after COVID-19 exposure in K-12 classrooms. The district will be following these guidelines for the upcoming school year. Based on these guidelines, confirmed or suspected cases of COVID-19 must be reported immediately to the local health district where the person lives.
With the increase in the COVID-19 cases throughout our region due to the highly contagious Delta variant, the Bethel-Tate Local School District strongly recommends to our staff, students, and visitors to wear masks indoors. Masks are recommended but not required at this time. This is a family decision to be made by each parent/guardian and child. In addition to masking, we are providing other layers of protection against COVID-19 based on the recommendations of the Ohio Department of Health and the Ohio Department of Education.
For reference, we have included below the Ohio Department of Health’s Chart – Guidelines for Quarantine After Exposure in K-12 Classroom Settings and the COVID-19 Fact Sheet: Guideline for K-12 Student Quarantine.
Please stay safe and be well,
Melissa Kircher
Superintendent
