In the late 19th century, the Mambo was created as a result of a mixture of African beats and Latin America's already existent Danzon. A popular orchestra in that era was Arcaño y sus Maravillas, led by the brothers Orestes and Israel Lopez, and they were known as the creators for the foundation of Mambo music and dance.
