An Extraordinary Place to Learn
A Message from Principal Wilson
Welcome back to a new year and another great week at Randolph ES. I hope you enjoyed your holiday break. I know the time we spend with our loved ones is special. The last couple of years these times have been especially important and meaningful. I hope you all were able to take a break and relax. We are so excited to begin the new year with you and your scholar!
As you are aware, second semester will begin with remote learning due to the increased amount of positive COVID cases in our area. Your teachers will be reaching out to you with additional schedule information and assignment information. We recognize this week will be challenging for some of you as well as our scholars. Please adhere to the schedule adjustments as much as possible. Keep in mind, every time your scholar does not engage with a teacher on a consistent basis their academic future is being impacted. This school year we are seeing the impact of the last year and half on our scholars. Family it is up to #AllOfUS to ensure our scholars are successful. Please make sure scholars are logged in daily according to their remote learning class schedule. Please use the following link to get more information on how to navigate remote learning successfully Remote Learning for Parents. Information about food service for families during the remote learning period will be sent by the district. Please check your email for this information. Thank you in advance for ensuring your scholar is successful.
As we transition to remote learning this week, please allow grace and be flexible with changes as we may need to pivot quickly and make necessary adjustments with little notice. There is no perfect way to teach during a pandemic. I love our staff for their resilience, patience, and perseverance. Without them our school cannot be successful. If you have questions or concerns please reach out to your teachers directly. They will assist you if they have the means of doing so. Thank you in advance for supporting our staff as they once again teach scholars remotely.
Family, I am very excited to share our middle of the year (MOY) data with you! Our scholars and teachers have been working really hard to ensure scholars are getting what they need at school. Shout out to all of you who help reinforce what we do at school at home. It is evident in our MOY results we are working as a team. Of course, we have still have work to do. However, it is important to celebrate small wins along the way. So today, we celebrate our increases and tomorrow we get back to work to ensure our goals are reached or surpassed by the end of the school year.
Our goals for both i-Ready Reading and Math is to ensure scholars are performing at Tier 1 (On Grade Level).
Data Review
I-Ready Reading all K-5 Scholars

MOY-41% Tier 1

I-Ready Math all K-5 Scholars

Please see tips on how to assist us with continuing to achieve our goals below.
Family it is imperative scholars remain at school F2F. Please do all you can to limit exposure to COVID19. Wearing a mask and distancing when possible is critical to keeping everyone safe and healthy. Thank you in advance for understanding the importance of the health crisis we are facing. Please continue to report COVID exposures and positive results using the parent portal below. Stay safe.
On campus visitation during the school day will be by appointment only to assist with managing the number of people in the building throughout the day. This is another safety measure we are continuing to keep in place for the remainder of the 2021-2022 school year. Should you wish to schedule an appointment to visit during the school day, please contact the front office to schedule time. We are not accepting in person volunteers until further notice.
We are doing our best during this school year. I thank you for partnering with us as we continue to educate our scholars.
Let's have an EXTRAORDINARY year!
In Partnership,
Principal Wilson, Proud Dolphin

Remote Learning Updates
Information regarding device pick-up for those 3rd-5th grade students who left their FCS issued devices at school over the winter break will be provided by the classroom teacher. Please inform your teacher if your scholar left his/her device at school.
At this time there are no online learning packets for students in grades K-2. Learning packets are forthcoming. While our preference is for students to log on for class each morning at 8:00am, if your scholar is unable to do so, due to lack of access to technology, please be patient as learning packets become available.

Former Late Start Days Are Now Early Release Days for Students in FCS
All Fulton County schools will participate in a total of three early release days for the remainder of the 2022 school year. Schools will reserve the time for collaborative work in PLC's and job-embedded professional learning.
The research is clear: when teachers plan and collaborate about student progress, students benefit. Early release days will be used for professional development for FCS teachers and staff. School will start for scholars at 7:20 am and end at 12:20 pm for elementary schools. More information on early release days is forthcoming.
