Assignments Due by Thursday at 11:59 pm

Hello Students and Parents,

The following assignments are due by 11:59 pm on Thursday, April 28th. There is a link to the Syllabus and Course Schedule on the course homepage under Course Information if you need to see more information. Some helpful links are included in this newsletter.

We are in our last assignment due date period before regular coursework is completed and the final exam becomes available. Please click on the following link to see the assignments which are due by Thursday, April 28th.

Please note that no late work can be accepted after Tuesday, May 3rd. Watch for News Announcements and emails from me that announce information about the final exam.

** Any students who are required to take the End of Course Assessment (EOC) at their face-to-face school will not take the final exam with GaVS.

Please contact me if you have questions. Let's push through and turn in awesome work by the due date!

According to the session in which you are enrolled, look at your schedule below to see which assignments are due.

I look forward to working with you this semester! Look at the following important information about getting started in your course. Please contact me if you have questions.

Let's Get Started!

Georgia Virtual School is pretty awesome; it's on all the time. 24-7 style. There are some things you have to know about deadlines and such, but once you get that figured out, you can work any time of the day or night. Let's get started!

SYNCHRONOUS HELP SESSIONS - THE ADOBE CLASSROOM

On your course home page, you will see a link for the instructor's office. This is a "chat room" of sorts, where the instructor will hold weekly office hours. You can bring your questions at that time to get help solving your math problems.

These are not video sessions, but they are audio active. Here's one of my sessions from last semester: http://gavirtualschool.adobeconnect.com/p2qy9lxp1j6/

Each session is recorded and the link will be posted under "User Links" so if you can't make it, you can watch the recording later.

SUPER IMPORTANT INFO ON TESTS AND QUIZZES!

It is really important to read this...you need to know. All quizzes and tests are timed. Once you open a quiz, you cannot pause it. The timer will run and once the time is up the ONLY action you can perform is to click submit.

PLEASE!!!! Don't open the quizzes or tests until you're ready to take them.

HAVE MORE QUESTIONS?

If you're new, you'll have lots of questions. On the right side of your course home page, you can find a link to your teacher's email address and phone number. Ask your teacher questions...it's what we're here for.

Oh...and although it might seem weird, calling or texting your teacher in an online course is perfectly ok; that's why we give you our numbers! Just be sure to identify yourself and leave a message if your call isn't answered and you will get a response within 24 hours Monday-Friday.

Note: Special Thanks to Ms. Heather McCormick for sharing this Smore with me to use with my classes!
