Hinduism: The First Basic Belief
Hinduism is the religion that most of India and Nepal follow. It has no single founder. People that follow the Hindu religion usually worship one of the many Deites. There are also 3 interlocking elements that are important to Hinduism:
- The Law of Dharma
Om (or Aum)
Hindu symbol of the absolute.
Lord Maa Durga

Hindu People Praying

Buddhism: The Second Belief
Buddhism is a non theistic religion based off of the 'great teacher' Buddha. Buddha lived in the south eastern part of India (between the 4th and 6th centuries of BCE) to help others and to share his insights and end their suffering. The main goal of Buddhism is the attainment of the state of Nirvana, by practicing the Middle Way, or the EIGHT FOLD PATH.
The symbol to represent the Eight Fold path.
A picture of Buddha himself. (Buddha was not a god, and not prayed to. He was looked at as a great teacher.)
Eight Fold Path
The fourth noble truth of the 4 Noble Truths. An ancient path that was practiced by all the Buddhas before.
