Message from Dr. Reilly
It is hard to believe that October is just around the corner! I want to share a couple of updates.
1. Picture day for F2F learners is October 15th. On retake day, November 19th, Lifetouch will photograph the students that have converted from Connect to F2F learning. They will take Connect students' pictures after school on November 19th. Lifetouch will share a schedule in the coming weeks.
2. If you are dropping children off at school AFTER school has started (you will know because there will be no staff outside) you must get out of the car to ring the bell. The front desk receptionist will meet you to receive your child. Dropping children off on the front porch without letting an adult know is a HUGE safety issue. Many times, students are too small to be seen by the doorbell camera. Please help us keep your children safe.
3. As you know, CFISD is becoming a 1:1 district. This means that eventually ALL CFISD students will be issued a district Chromebook that they will keep from year to year. If you receive a message that your Chromebook is ready, even if you are F2F, please make arrangements to come sign the form and pick up the device. The email will have instructions for pick-up.
4. Information about our virtual Curriculum Night will be coming soon. The format will be a presentation with an embedded video from your child's teacher and then a scheduled open Zoom for you to pop in and ask questions.
I am looking forward to a fun-filled week with cooler temps on the way!
Dr. Reiily
CHANGING YOUR CHILD'S INSTRUCTIONAL MODEL
If you would like to make a change to the learning option for your child(ren) for the 2nd grading period – from CFISD Connect to On-Campus or from On-Campus to CFISD Connect - the selection window will be open between Monday, Sept. 28 and Sunday, Oct. 4. This change will be effective beginning Oct. 19 for middle and high school students and Nov. 9 for elementary students. You will receive a follow-up letter on Monday, Sept. 28 with instructions on how to make the change. If your child is continuing with the same learning option for the 2nd grading period, then no action is required. The October 4 deadline is the final opportunity to be guaranteed a change for the second grading period. There will not be an opportunity to edit your choice.

Release of Information Forms
If you are needing Behavior Rating Scales completed or are wanting the school to communicate with an outside entity, private tutor, doctor etc. , you will need to complete a Release of Information Form for this school year. You can request this form through the counseling office. When asking teachers to complete Behavior Rating Scales, you will need to give one week’s notice to allow teachers ample time to complete the forms. These forms will be faxed directly to the doctor’s office and you will be notified once this is completed.
Credit By Exam
Although the application window has closed to be able to skip a grade for the current 20-21 school year, there are 2 opportunities available during the year to test to skip for the 21-22 school year. Please see the district website for testing dates and application deadlines..
