Enchanted Book Fair

Submitted by Mrs. Kehan

The Scholastic Fall Book Fair was a huge success thanks to our parent volunteers. A special thank you goes to Mrs. Dunn, Mrs. Michvech, Mrs. Poon, and Mrs. Posnan for organizing the fair. Many happy readers could be found throughout the week. Our teachers love adding to their classroom libraries too.

Our 4th, 5th, and 6th grade students proudly voted for their peer representatives on the Warwick Student Council on November 6th. The received a sticker that said "I Voted" just like adults did as they voted on that day.

Student Council Spirit Days!

Student Council is having two Spirit Days next week. The first one is on Monday for our Veterans Day Breakfast and Assembly. Please wear red, white, and blue to show your appreciation for the sacrifices and service of our military men and women. The second spirit day will be next Friday. It's going to be a PINK OUT! Please wear pink to show your support for breast cancer awareness and research.

Student Council Operation Shoebox

Student council will again be sponsoring Operation Shoebox at Warwick. Operation Shoebox is a chance to spread joy to needy children around the world. These children typically do not have running water and/or much food to eat, so the delivery of a special package from America filled with small toys or kid-things can really put a smile on a child’s face around the holidays. If you would like to participate in this great project that makes us think about children who have needs in other parts of the world, please consider bringing in an item assigned to your grade:

  • Kindergarten & 1st grade – small simple toys – Yoyos, jump ropes, balls, toy cars, harmonicas, light-up toys with batteries etc. (must fit in shoe-box)
  • 2nd & 3rd grade - School or art supplies- pens, pencils, sharpeners, crayons, markers, note pads, coloring books and picture books, clay, solar calculators
  • 4th & 5th grade - Accessories- socks, sunglasses, hair clips, toothpaste, toothbrushes, soap, combs, flashlights (with extra batteries) and so on
  • 6th grade – books, magazines, stuffed animals, or any of above.

Do not include used items, war-related items (guns, military figures, etc), food, liquids or lotions, anything breakable.

All items are due by Wednesday, November 15th. We will be packing the boxes that afternoon after school (6th graders will be assisting). Thank you for supporting our project!

Celebrate Education Week

We are celebrating education next week! Please stay tuned for an email to parents/guardians explaining the date and time when each grade is holding visitation. The purpose of visitation is to give parents a chance to see what typically happens in class in that grade and homeroom. Only parents/guardians of currently enrolled Warwick students are welcome to attend. All parents/guardians need to have their PA Photo/License with them to be admitted to the building. See the procedures for School Visits and Security below.

Celebrate Education Visitation Schedule

School Visits and Security

To protect our students and staff while school is in session, all exterior doors are locked during the school day. Parents, guardians and all visitors during the school day must enter the school using the Main Entrance. Please have a valid state issued photo identification card with you (e.g., PA License). You will use the buzzer at the exterior of our Main Entrance to state your reason for visit and show your ID. Once inside the vestibule, you will again need to be buzzed in. Once in the Main Office, you will swipe your PA Licence and receive a visitor's sticker stating your name, time ,and destination. Visitors must wear this sticker at all times and return it to the Main Office when you sign out to leave Warwick. This procedure is necessary for all visitors, even those that frequently visit and volunteer. We appreciate your support and patience.

Parent/Guardian Conferences

Teachers will communicate conference schedules in the upcoming weeks. Conferences will be 25 minutes long and students should participate. The focus of our conferences is celebrating strengths and setting goals. Stay tuned for more information as we get closer to conferences.
Register for My Payments Plus

Please enroll each of your students in My Payments Plus, the CBSD online payment program. For instructions, please see the attachment below.

Late Arrival to School

Any student arriving after 9:05 am is late and can not be "dropped off" using the Meetinghouse Road parking lot loop. Late students must be walked into the Main Office by their parent/guardian. The student will receive a "late slip" to be taken to their classroom teacher in order to be admitted to class late.

Changes to Your Dismissal Plans

If it is necessary to change your normal pick-up routine at the end of the day, i.e., a different adult, bus rather than car, car rather than bus, a change in child care arrangements, etc., a written note must be presented to the classroom teacher, who will share the information with the office.

Any phone calls regarding a change in end-of-day plans must be directed to the office before 3:00 PM through a phone call (267-893-4055) or via e-mail and not directly to the classroom teacher, as teachers are engaged with students' learning and will not be able to check their email during the instructional day.
