Religious Education Classes
Religious Education classes are now in full swing, with classes held on the first and third Sundays.
Nursery and childcare are offered every Sunday during the service with two childcare assistants in attendance.
The elementary school class is following the Unitarian Universalist Association’s Wonderful Welcome curriculum. November classes focused on Forgiveness “as an intangible gift with the power to heal friendships and restore peace” and Kindness by exploring Golden Rule as a principle of treating others as one would want to be treated.
The middle/junior high school group is using the Sing to the Power curriculum. The first class explored the concept that the power of earth is the power of grounding and connection and linking it to the first and seventh UU Principles, by affirming that in valuing each one of us, we build connections among all of us. In the second examined the power of the earth bring forth new life and nurture growth. Goals of the class included exploring strategies for ethical eating and developing their understanding of the value of sharing.
For high school age students, we are offering A Chorus of Faiths, an interfaith service project. Additionally, high school students are invited to at inter-congregational retreat Friday Dec. 1st 6 PM to Saturday the 2nd at noon at UU Church West. Registration closes at midnight November 26th.

December Programming and Events
With the holidays coming, we are suspending classes in favor of some holiday fun for all!
It’s Time to Get Your Elf On!
We are hosting our holiday store for the children on December 3rd this year. We will be offering an opportunity for children to "purchase" gifts for their family with a food pantry donation.
Please bring “gifts” you are no longer using that the children may want to give their family members. Items such as coffee table books, jewelry, candles, stuffed animals, games, puzzles, and knick-knacks would be gratefully accepted. A “gift box” will be in the north lobby for your donations.
Elves will be needed on December 3rd to help the children find that perfect gift and to wrap.
Please contact Rosa at rosam1977@att.net with questions. Thanks for your help!
Kid’s Night Out – December 15th
We’re hoping the kids will be up for a night out Friday, Dec. 15th. UCN is hosting a night of dinner, movies, games and crafts, while parents enjoy dinner out, shopping, a movie, quiet time or whatever. Drop off is in the lower-level Fellowship Hall at 5:30, pick up is at 8:00. Jammies, stuffed
animals, and favorite games are welcome as well.
