December is Seasonal Depression Awareness Month
Feeling SAD? Seasonal Affective Disorder is more than just winter blues or periodic “funk” and is most commonly associated with fall and winter months. Symptoms include low energy, depressed mood, social withdrawal, loss of interest in activities, irritability, and/or feelings of hopelessness.
Things that may help: create a regular schedule/daily routine, get sunlight, go outside, exercise, connect/socialize with others, take a trip, etc.
We all have bad days, however SAD is a form of depression that may require professional support if these tips do not help.
