The Crow's Nest
Mrs. Crow's Second Grade
Happy Constitution Week!
What are we learning?
We will use technology to capture story elements such as character traits and story parts.
We will be learning how to stretch small moments into a fuller story. We will also be learning about plural nouns.
We will be expanding out number sense by working with number lines and skip counting.
As September 17th was Constitution Day, we will be celebrating its importance as well as continuing our study of communities.
2nd Grade Fall Festival News
Thank you, thank you, thank you! Let us say right now that Fall Festival will be such a success because of our wonderful parents! We had a great turnout at our meeting and are super excited for this year’s festival! This is our only grade-level fundraiser for the year and it helps us purchase supplies for our classrooms and cut costs on field trip expenses.
Fall Festival will be held at the High School’s main parking lot on Saturday, October 1st, from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM.
This year, Second Grade has decided on a Monster Mash theme to decorate our booth! If you are crafty and creative, we’ve got the ideas if you’ve got the time! If you can donate any of the items, please send them to your child’s teacher.
2nd grade will be gathering together containers full of goodies to use in our silent auction. We have decided on the following basket themes for the silent auction:
1) Trick-or-Treat 2) Tailgate Touchdown 3) “Soup”er Simple 4) Bark Basket &
5) Mr. Fix-IT. If you have items to donate to these baskets, please send them to school with your student.
If you have any connections with businesses in the medical community, (i.e. doctor’s offices, veterinary clinics, etc.) who would be willing to donate medical supplies such as colored bandages and wraps to our MASH tent, please let your child’s teacher know.
In addition to donated items, 2nd grade also takes cash donations and uses them to purchase any necessary items. 100% of cash donations goes directly into our 2nd grade activity fund. If you would like, please send any donations to your child’s teacher marked “2nd Grade Fall Festival”.
Our food items we will be selling are SUPER NACHOS, APPLE DIPPERS, and drinks. A sign-up email will be sent out this coming with needed items.
