Flappers
Flappers were young women from the West. They set a new trend for the women in the 1920's. They were known for their hair styles, and their dresses. They way they acted and their sassy attitudes also had a big affect on their image.
Renne Adoree
A French actress who was popular in the 1920s. Her parents were circus artist, she began performing with them at the age of 5. She was born in London and moved to New York City. She was married twice. Her brother was a actor as well. By 1930 she was in 45 films. She was diagnosed with Tuberculosis and was rushed to the hospital during a film, a few days later was moved to a home then later died.
Speakeasy
Is also called a "blind pig" or "blind tiger" this was a place that old alcoholic beverages during the time when selling, manufacturing, or transporting alcohol was illegal. People who are unlicensed cold alcohol here, hoping to not get caught by the cops, they stayed lowkey. It later came that a speakeasy was a place to get alcohol.
OG's
These men were criminals and were a part of a gang. If you were not loyal to them you would be shot or killed, or your family was too. These men were wealthy, they dressed well mainly in suits, got the nice cars, ladies, and jewelry. They made the concept that being gangster was cool. Later it became that robbing someone over a pipe and shooting them wasn't cool. Bootlegging was the only thing left for these gangsters.
Womens Rights movement
These women were brave, they tried to stand up for what was right and got hand cuffed and taken out by the police. That's the nicest way they handled it. The crowed would through stuff at them, people would beat them including men. All over trying to stand up for what was right..
This is a parade and some of the stuff they did and what they said. The women knew they could do just as much as the guys could. They later passed the law and got what they wanted and deserved.
Henry Fords assembly line
This was an invention that changed peoples life back then and now. On December 1, 1913 the first car was made by Henry Ford. This gave people transportation and something to do in their spare time. When he first began it toke him 12 hours but with his help it shorten it down to 2 hours and 30 minutes. He made these cars very affordable for everyone. The mobile T was the car back then. Its only gotten bigger ever since.
