Parents,
As many of you know, this will be my last week as the librarian at Sand Springs. I am retiring and my last day is Friday. I want you to know how much I have loved seeing your children each week and sharing books and the love of reading with all of them. I will truly miss each one.
As I say goodbye, I would like to leave you with this message from author Neil Gaiman:
"I hope you will have a wonderful year, that you'll dream dangerously and outrageously, that you'll make something that didn't exist before you made it, that you will be loved and that you will be liked, and that you will have people to love and like in return. And most importantly (because I think there should be more kindness and more wisdom in the world right now), that you will, when you need to be , be wise, and that you will always be kind."
Sincerely,
Mrs. Peterson

NEWS FROM OUR SCHOOL COUNSELOR MRS. CALDWELL
All classes have been focusing on Being a Good Friend for the month of September. I have been reading The Weird Series with 3rd-6th grade students. Each of the three books about bullying prevention tells the same story from a different perspective (the person doing the bullying, the target of the bullying, and the witness to the bullying). It is my hope that more of our students will learn to stand up for each other to create a happy and safe environment at our school.
For resources on bullying prevention, please visit:
https://www.davis.k12.ut.us/departments/student-family-resources/preventioncommunity (Click on the Bullying tab.)
If you need additional support on this topic, reach out to your child’s teacher, our administration, or me 😊
