respiratory system

the introduction of the respiratory system

the respiratory system is the system that is about the respiration of the cell in the body, the exchange of gases between the organism and the environment. the gases are carbon dioxide and oxygen.the process occurred by breathing. the organs that include in this system are lung, diaphragm, nostril, mouth, trachea and bronchi.

alveoli

The whole point of respiratory system is the exchanges between the blood and the air the oxygenate blood is transferred to the body, while the poor oxygen blood will exchange the CO2 with oxygen and the the CO2 will go out of the body , which the process of exchanging occurred in the alveoli in the lungs.

First we intake the air that have oxygen in to our body the air travels down through trachea tube into the lung through bronchi, the bronchus are attached by billions of alveolus and the alveolus also attached by the capillaries.

then the oxygen in the air diffuse from alveoli to the poor oxygen blood cell through the capillaries, the blood cell becomes oxygenated and travel out of the lungs through out the parts of the body. After that it comes back to the lung again and diffuse the CO2 to the alveoli though capillaries and the CO2 gets out from your body by the time you exhale. It works as a cycle.

The disorder that occurs respiratory system

Asthma : the Asthma is the dis order for the respiratory that affects the air way of the lungs to become narrowed and obstruct with mucus, causing the people who suffered from it to be difficult of breathing.

the symptoms are the wheezing while exercise or when having cold, the cough mostly during the night time and chest tightness.

the treatment for the asthma are several kinds of the medicine, that helped control the symptom.

the prevalence of the asthma , by 2011 more than 235 million people suffered from the asthma.

Emphysema : Emphysema is a disorder in the respiratory system that results in destruction of the alveolar walls. Symptoms are shortness of breath and enlargement of the thoracic cavity. Treatment involves removing sources of irritants, promoting the removal of bronchial secretions ,retraining people ,to breathe so expiration of air is maximized , and using antibiotics to prevent infections. The prevalence of emphysema estimated 4.7 million Americans ever diagnosed with emphysema ,92 percent are 45 or older.

How carbon dioxide and oxygen are transported in the blood

Oxygen enters the blood from the lungs and carbon dioxide is expelled out of the blood into the lungs . The blood serves to transport both gases. Oxygen is carried to the cells. Carbon dioxide is carried away from the cells. The oxygen transported by hemoglobin and the carbon dioxide bicarbonate and the other half is carbaminohemoglobin .
