Message from the Office
Dear Parents,
Recently there has been an increase in the number of students who are arriving late to school in the morning. In the hopes of decreasing morning classroom interruptions, please drop off you child(ren) before the first bell (8:45 a.m.).
Should your child be absent, please use SafeArrival or contact the school (phone or email) should SafeArrival not be working for you.
God Bless

OLPH Church - Summer Bible Camp
Come join our team of Volunteers at this summer’s OLPH'S Vacation Bible Camp
The OLPH parish community is looking for adults or older youth (grade 9 and up) to act as leaders at camp this summer.
Perhaps you know someone who is studying to be a teacher, or there is a fantastic student teacher in your school community who might be keen to join us?
Many new teachers come through our summer bible camp and gain valuable teaching experience and make connections within our parish. We would welcome their talent and expertise as our camp is run exclusively by volunteers each summer. While it is a gift of your time and energy to help lead, I can assure you it is also an opportunity to deepen your faith as we create a meaningful faith experience for the youth who come to camp.
Vacation Bible Camp July 9th-13th, 9:00-12:30 pm
Group Leaders duties : Teach a bible story with your group of children and take them through each station. Leaders are needed for students who have finished grade 3, 4, and 5 this summer.
Snack Leader duties: Preparation of snack each day, supervise youth helpers in the kitchen.
Decorating Leader duties: Assist Sharon Darbyshire (Coordinator) overseeing youth as they set up and decorate the week before camp - July 3-5th.
Games Leader duties: lead children in games everyday (usually outdoors). (can be student or adult)
Student Youth Volunteers: Finished Grade 6 and up. Youth volunteers set up the week before camp July 3-5th , help out in crafts, games, snacks and help with leaders in groups.
If you think you are interested or if you know someone who is please contact Sharon Darbyshire @ sdarbyshire@olph.ca
P.S. Registration for our camp participants will be coming out later in May. It is always a very reasonable registration fee for such a wonderful week I highly recommend it. I will pass along the registration info when it becomes finalized.
School Configuration Decision!
Dear Parents,
The changes will take place in September 2019-2020 which will allow for the EICS Board of Trustees, administration and staff to have sufficient time to make the necessary infrastructure and programming changes needed for a seamless transition for students and staff.
For more information please visit the EICS website at www.eics.ab.ca

Gearing up for Year 3 of the One-to-One Technology Program
Dear Parents,
With the successful implementation of the One to One technology program, EICS is excited to enter into year 3 of the initiative.
Beginning in September of 2018-2019, the option to purchase or lease to own a Chromebook will be offered by Staples and not directly from the school.
Because of the positive feedback we’ve received from you about the service and support provided by Staples, we continue to recommend them to our parent community.
Here is a link to their most recent offer, which now includes payment options.
We will continue to maintain a small inventory of Chromebooks at the school in the event that the student forgets to bring or charge their own device.
Any further questions, please contact your school administration.
Outstanding Fees!
Dear Parents,
Please log onto your PowerSchool account to pay any outstanding Field Trip Fees, Option Fees, or Chromebook Leasing / Buyout Fees.
All Fees can be paid on-line or cash or cheque (payable to EICS) to Mme Winland in the office.
