What is Rosh Hashanah?
Rosh Hashanah is the traditional Jewish New Year. This holiday is typically celebrated on the first and second days of the month of Tishre (September-October). Tradition says that the days of Rosh Hashanah were also the first days of creation. It is celebrated by special prayers and by eating sweets in the hope of a good year to come.

Attend religious services
This is for all Jewish people that wish to be part of this. It is a free event that offers all services during the time of Rosh Hashanah.
Plan and prepare festival meals for the evening
It is essential that they include sweet food to insure that the coming year will be a "sweet year". Mainly they give a slice of apple and a piece of challah dipped in honey
Traditional to eat a new fruit of season.
A fall fruit should not be eaten. Before eating a fruit such as pears, pomegranates and grapes which are usually available at that time, it is mandatory to say a blessing to the Holy One for the continuity.
Significance of Rosh Hashanah
Rosh Hashanah is the day when Jewish people commemorate the creation of the world and marks the beginning of the Days of Awe, A 10 day period of introspection and repentance that culminates in the Yom Kippur. Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur are the two "high holy days" in the Jewish religion.
