SWARTZ CREEK BOND 2018 YARD SIGN REQUEST

Picture Retake Day November 1st.

Greetings Gaines Families,

It is hard to believe that we are entering our second month of school already. September saw field experiences, classroom team building activities and assessments for your students as we prepare to start rolling on all cylinders with our curricula tools. This year new to the district is a program called Reading Wonders. This reading tool was provided to all elementary teachers K-5 in the district. Your child's teacher received training this past summer with this tool and we are excited for the roll out. There were also additions to our math curricular tool, math expressions. I am excited to roll out the Gaines Activities Calendar. This calendar is subject to change based on availability and weather. However, this calendar will have the most update activities for students that will take place this year. Our Gaines Halloween Bash will be here before you know it. We invite you to come out on October 19th, 5:30-7:30, here at Gaines. Please check with your child's teacher for their Halloween celebration time on Friday Oct 26th and join us as we walk Gaines Village in our costumes at 2:00 pm.

We will have our PTO meeting on Monday Oct 8th at 3:45 pm in the cafeteria. Please stay and have pizza with the Principal after the meeting. I will be available to answer questions, hear concerns and listen to ideas that you may want to see happen at Gaines. At 6:30 our Superintendent, Ben Mainka will be hosting a town hall meeting for the Swartz Creek Community. Light refreshments will be provided. We encourage you to make a night of it as child care will be provided. So, come support the PTO, have dinner and get informed.

Parent teacher conferences will be Oct 9th and Oct 11th. Your child's teacher will be reaching out with a sign up and we look forward to collaborating with you!

Thank you and we hope to see you all on Monday Oct 8th!
