"Individually Unique, Together Complete"

Welcome Back KES Staff, Students, and Families!

Now, I can officially say welcome back to everyone! I hope all of our KES families are doing well.

Our staff is exited and ready to welcome the students back. We are committed to making every effort to ensure the safety, academic success, and emotional well-being of our students. As we move into 2022, I want to thank our KES staff, students, and parents for starting the year off virtually. Thank you all for everything you’ve done to support our students and our KES community.

We are returning face-to-face Monday, January 10, 2022.

Due to the current level of exposures/cases, please be patient as there may be possible bus delays and staff coverage for absences. Everyone is doing their best to keep our students and staff safe, in the meantime keeping schools open.

Parents are crucial partners in this effort as we need your continued support more than ever. In response to the recent surge in COVID-19, Omicron variant, KES will adhere to the following mitigation strategies already in place:

  • A friendly reminder all staff and students must wear a mask daily. Students and staff are required to wear a properly fitted mask at all times except when eating or while outside. If a student forgets his/her mask, one will be provided.
  • All health protocols and mitigation strategies will continue to be observed.
  • Classrooms are set up in the safest manner possible to minimize contact.
  • Desks will be sanitized daily and in between any group change. Our custodial staff will clean and sanitize high touch surfaces throughout the day.
  • Sharing of classroom items and supplies will be limited and/or restricted. Students are encouraged to label all personal supplies.
  • Kingsley will continue to provide free breakfast and lunch according to the DCSD guidelines.
  • Students are encouraged to bring a personal water bottle each day as water fountain use will be restricted. We have refill water stations for student use.
  • As always, if your child is feeling sick, please keep him/her home.
  • We will continuously provide updates via School Messenger, Class Dojo, the Principal Newsletter, and our school website.
  • Our after school program will resume as scheduled Monday. If you have any questions, please contact Mrs. Pamela Jones (KES After School Director).

Thank you again to our amazing teachers and staff who continue to go above and beyond for our students, as they are the true frontline heroes ensuring that high quality teaching and learning remain a top priority. I am beyond excited to fill the KES halls and classrooms with the sound of little feet, laughter and learning this week and in the weeks to come! We missed you!

Happy New Year!

If your child needs to have medication administered at school, please download the form below and have your physician to complete it.

You may drop off the medication and the documents for the medication on the first day back to school. A staff member will meet you at the front entrance of the school to collect the documents and medication or you may place the form and medication in a Ziploc bag clearly labeled with your child's first/last name and grade. You may send it by the student with the necessary document. SCHOOL MEALS - Lunch Update

Breakfast and lunch are served each day of school. All meals are FREE through the 2021-2022 school year. Please review the School Cafe flyer below.

Students will be eating lunch in the cafeteria this year. ALL students will have access to free meals for the 2021/2022 school year. However, we ask that families who qualify for free and reduced lunch complete a lunch form so Kingsley can receive the funding associated with the program. The cafeteria is hoping to start selling a la carte items so please set up a School Cafe account for your child at if you would like your child to have the option to purchase additional a la cart items different from the provided school lunch.

Breakfast and lunch menus can always be found on this website:
