Designing, building & programming robots at APS
Robot Buddies with Ms. Ward's ESE Class
Ms. Ward's ESE class has joined our Robot Buddies program. They will be coming to the Robotics Lab during my planning period on Thursdays. This Thursday, Joel, Amelie, Adonnis and Jagger helped their new robot buddies learn how to use the Dash robots. They did an awesome job. Ms. Wards' students were amazing and we saw lots of incredible smiles.
Robot Soccer
Mr. Honohan gave us permission to set up a soccer field in the Hawk Hall for the Dash robots. We have been playing robot soccer with our robot buddies in Ms. Roberts class after school on Tuesdays and Thursdays. It has been a blast. Robot basketball is next.
Using Gears in Robotics
Some students in the robotics club have been using gears in amazing ways. Grey, Eli and Bronx have been making gear boxes and using gears to make their robots better at sumo wrestling. They are using this simple machine in impressive and intricate ways.
Robotic Band
Avery, Adonnis and Bradyn have been working on more robotic instruments for their robotic band. The instruments are amazing and the music they make is unlike anything heard previously.
Sumo Wrestling
Sumo wrestling with the LEGO Mindstorms EV3's continue. Students have been redesigning their robots to make them fiercer competitors.
Fundraiser for Cubelets on Donorschoose.org
The APS Robotics Club has been loaned some Cubelets for a month to see what students think about them. The members of the club have really enjoyed working with them. They have asked me to do a fundraiser to get the club a set to use.
We are currently doing a fundraiser on Donorschoose.org to get some Cubelets for the APS Robotics Club. These cubes are used to design, build and program various robots. It will give our students another option for programming robots.
