SAT and PSAT testing
PSAT is Wednesday, October 14th from 8:20am to 12:00 p.m. at HRVHS.
Sophomores and Juniors will take the test. Parents, please do not schedule appointments during the morning for Sophomores and Juniors.
Seniors have options for the day. Including college visits to MHCC and PCC. There will be no regularly scheduled senior classes that day.
Freshmen will have a special morning schedule.
Freshman, Sophomores, and Juniors will attend all 4 of their A-day classes in the afternoon.
The SAT will be offered in Hood River on Saturday, November 7th at the CGCC-Indian Creek campus. The deadline to register for the test is October 8th. Seniors planning to attend a four year college are encouraged to take this test. Fee waivers for qualifying students are available in the Guidance Office.
El PSAT se llevará a cabo el miércoles, 14 de octubre de 8:20 am a 12:00 pm en HRVHS.
Los de los grado 10 y 11 tomarán la prueba. Padres, por favor, no programen citas durante la mañana para sus estudiantes de los grados 10 y 11.
Los “Seniors” tendrán opciones para el día. Incluye visitas a la universidad a MHCC y PCC. No habrá ningún horario regular de clases para los “Seniors” ese día.

Ayme Hooper, a Guidance Counselor here at HRVHS and Emily Vawter, a Counselor with Providence Hospice of the Gorge are offering a group for students affected by the death of a loved one. The group will begin on October 15 and run through January 21, 2016. The stages of grief, common reactions to loss and moving forward are among topics covered. Have your student pick up a retake order envelope in the main office before October 27. If your student did not get an ASB card, please make sure to have them get their picture taken even if you are not purchasing photos.

Colleges Visit HRVHS:
Students are welcome to visit with representatives by obtaining a permission slip in the SUMMIT Career Center or signing up on Naviance prior to the time of the college visitation. Other college visitation dates will be announced as they are scheduled. Look for updates on the calendar on our HRVHS website under SUMMIT.

College Night and College Fair - Wednesday, November 4
This evening is designed to help parents and students navigate the college admission process. It will start with a college fair in HRV Commons. The following colleges will have admission representatives and information available from 6:00 – 6:30: Eastern Oregon University, George Fox University, Oregon State University, Pacific University, Portland State University, University of Oregon, University of Portland, Western Oregon University, Columbia Gorge Community College, Central Oregon Community College, Willamette University, Warner Pacific, Linfield, Seattle University, and Mt. Hood Community College. At 6:30, admission representatives will be presenting specific information about their campus and programs, HRV Counselors and ASPIRE Coordinator will be presenting workshops dealing with the specific application process at all types of post-secondary schools along with information about scholarships and the financial aid process. This information will be presented in Spanish as well. This evening is directed primarily at juniors and seniors but all are welcome. Hope you will join us!
