What do you envision?
What sculpture is to a block of marble, education is to a human soul.
-Joseph Addison
When a sculptor looks at a block of marble, they are able to envision the finished product. They must then chip away. I cannot speak from personal experience; however, I doubt most sculptors, when they visualize their finished product, see a jumbled mess of errant chippings that would in no way appeal to anyone. So the question is, what do you see when you look at our blocks of marble, our students? Do you envision them as a work of art just needing the chiseling of your instruction and encouragement to reach their future potential? I believe you do, though some require more work and more fine tuning than others, each can be a great individual who deserves nothing less from us than the finest craftsmanship and attention to detail. For that, I thank you.

PHS' Special Forces
As I am sure most of you know, this is Pinedale High School's team of instructional aides. (Our Life Skills Instructional Aides were featured in a previous Flash) Each of them has been working diligently this past week assisting students with the new ASPIRE testing. However, that is a small portion of what they do on a daily basis. Our instructional aides circulate throughout our school throughout the day assisting a variety of students in multiple content areas while at the same time implementing multiple strategies to assist our learners to be the best they can be. Daunting as the task may be, they show up everyday with a smile on their face and bucket full of patience ready to be our very own Special Forces unit. If you get the opportunity, thank one or all of these individuals for their dedication to the students of Pinedale High School.
