Cloverdale Elementary News
Week Of November 30, 2020
Principal's Den
I hope you all had a safe and wonderful Thanksgiving break. We are so happy to have you back as we head in December and the last few weeks of school during this calendar year. The work continues in our classrooms as we continue to work in preparation for a possible return of students on January 25th based on state and county health mandates. We continue to gain academic momentum as our students and teachers become more and more confident in finding creative ways to make our distance learning engaging and efficient. I hope you are all healthy and staying safe.
This week you will be working on the PBIS skills of listening, engaging in conversation, and taking time to monitor our emotions and cooling off when necessary.
I hope to see many of you this week during grab n go lunch. We have only a few weeks before our Winter break. Please continue to work hard and do your best in everything that you do. I'm very happy to have you all back and ready to learn.
Thank you,
At Cloverdale we strive to be Leaders by Example. As I mention to our students during announcements, this means that we always try to do the right thing even when no one is looking.
As part of our school's Positive Behavioral Interventions and Support (PBIS), we also learn to ROAR. This is a matrix that exemplifies our core values of being Respectful, Organized, Accountable, and Responsible.
We also know that a FAIL is only a First Attempt in Learning and that we learn best from our mistakes. When someone makes a mistake we say "It's Cool!"
Sincerely,
Genaro García
