Parent Teacher Conferences
On November 1, our parent teacher conference sign up for November conferences will open in ParentVue. You will receive detailed information from your child’s classroom teacher via email. Parent teacher conferences will be hosted on November 21, 8:00 a.m.-8:00 p.m. and November 22, 8:00-11:00 a.m. The sign up module in ParentVue will be open until November 17. If you will not be able to attend a conference on either of these days, teachers can set up a phone conference with you after Thanksgiving break. Conferences cannot be hosted prior to November 21.
FastBridge Fall Reports and Progress Reports
In ParentVue under documents you will find your child's results from the FastBridge testing done this fall. This evaluation is our universal benchmarking assessment for reading and math and it helps staff to identify your child’s instructional level and measure growth over time. Student progress reports for students will be available online via ParentVue on November 18. Should you have any questions about your child’s Fastbridge report or progress report, please contact your child’s teacher. If you have any difficulty accessing ParentVue, please email hd@d47.org.

Halloween at Woods Creek
We will be hosting a Halloween parade and classroom parties on October 31 during the school day. The Halloween parade will begin at approximately 1:50 p.m. Parents/families are welcome to watch the parade from outside the school building. Students will go to their classroom parties after the parade. Classroom parties will be held from 2:30-3:15 p.m. Parents who have pre-arranged to attend are welcome. Each classroom may have a maximum of three party volunteers. Halloween party volunteers may check in at the office at 2:15 p.m. to set up for classroom parties. If you are volunteering and have not had your driver’s license scanned into the Raptor visitor system this year, please do so before October 31 to alleviate congestion in the office on party day. Woods Creek’s complete Halloween information is available in this link and on the school website.
WC PTO Book Fair
The Woods Creek PTO will be hosting a Scholastic Book Fair in November. By visiting our fair, you will help our school create a culture of reading, build our school libraries and select books for your home library. The Book Fair will be open on November 17, 4:00-7:00 p.m., November 18, 4:00-7:00 p.m., and November 19, 9:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. in the Woods Creek cafeteria. If you cannot make it to the fair, please shop at our school’s Online Book Fair which will be available November 18-December 1. Happy reading!
Community Harvest Food Drive
Woods Creek is proud to support the Crystal Lake Food Pantry and looks forward to participating in the annual Community Harvest Food Drive. Last year, District 47 donated 7,723 pounds which equates to nearly 6,500 meals! Woods Creek will be collecting items for the Food Drive November 1-November 14. See this year’s flyer for most wanted food and household items. Monetary donations are also appreciated; checks can be made payable to the Crystal Lake Food Pantry. We are excited to be involved in this annual tradition and important community event!
Birthday Treats Reminder
Please remember that students cannot pass out food or candy birthday treats. Here is the treat information from the District 47 Student Handbook: Due to health concerns and food allergies, parents/guardians are not able to bring in food/candy of any kind for classroom holiday parties (i.e. Halloween, Winter, and Valentine classroom parties) and/or birthday celebrations. Our experience has been that students are just as happy to receive pencils, stickers, etc. and/or to have a craft activity to celebrate holidays and special events in the classroom.
Crystal Lake South High School Children’s Chorus Auditions
The Crystal Lake South High School theatre production team is excited to invite students in grades 3-8 to audition to be a part of the children’s chorus in our winter musical, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat! Please open this flyer for additional information.
