HAVE A SAFE AND HAPPY THANKSGIVING VACATION - WED. NOV. 23- FRIDAY NOV. 25
Dear CVCS Family,
We want to take this opportunity to say thank you for your continued faith in and support of what we do each day for your child or children. It is an honor to serve this school's community and we hope we will continue to minister in such a way that all of you are able to count us as a blessing.
We encourage the children to show appreciation to those who bless them. We hope you're able to do the same as you gather with loved ones this holiday season.
Thank you once again and we wish continued blessings on your home and family.

Partnering for Life (PFE) Scholarship Opportunity
- Since 2006, Southern Adventist University has had the unique opportunity to manage a one of a kind grant that creates a local, service-oriented scholarship program for elementary students that pairs participating students with elderly adults in their community.
- Students participating in the grant-funded program perform light housecleaning and/or yard work, visit, read, play games, assist with planned facility events, along with many other responsibilities. These activities benefit the older adults with daily living and quality of life while also providing students an excellent opportunity to appreciate the value of service, foster positive mutual relationships with the elderly, and help with financing their Christian education.
- If you would like to learn more about this exciting opportunity for your child. Please RSVP by December 2nd. Thank You!

Additionally, we will be starting a mandatory study hall after school on Tuesday, November 29. This is an important support tool and any student missing 3 or more assignments from any class will be required to attend from 4-5 in the library at school. We'll communicate with impacted parents and students on Monday the 29th.
Finally, we hope everyone has a blessed thanksgiving holiday with those you hold most dear. Thank you for the honor of working with your children.
Grades K-1 - Mrs. Bates
This short week we are highlighting thankfulness in the learning we do:
-"thanks" starts with 't'
-there are 12 letters in the word "Thanksgiving"
-"Thanksgiving" is a compound word
-"Thanksgiving" starts with a capital letter because it is the name of a holiday
-there are many ways/languages to say "thank-you"
-God is the giver of all good gifts
All that fun and more will be in our 2 days of school.
Grade 1 families: Look for addition flashcards coming home. During the holidays, making and practicing math facts can be a fun way (among others, obviously) for children to spend time with older siblings, parents, grandparents, and other friends and relatives.
Have a blessed holiday week and give thanks to God for all He has done for us.
Preschool - Mrs. Kontra
I wanted to give you a heads up on a couple of things coming up.
Saturday, December 3: Immediately after we are back is our Sweet Home church outreach. The children will be singing: the Creation Kids theme song, Jesus Loves the Little Ones Like Me, My God is So Great, Jesus Loves Me, and Happy All The Time.
Thursday, December 8 Is our field trip to Christmas Story Book Land. We will leave the school at 9:30, and arrive back around noon. Parents and younger siblings are welcome. Please bring one non-perishable food item for each person attending from your home. The children will get to contribute to the food bank.
Thursday, December 15 is our Christmas Program at 1:00 and 7:00 p.m. Please have your child come to preschool even if it is not their normal day. so we can rehearse. Thanks!
