From Leslie Dowdle:
Student and Staff referrals to see the counselor are outside my office door.
Send me the names of any students fit the criteria for the “Backpack Program”. Please refer to the information sheet I placed in your boxes earlier this week.
Starting this year the At-Risk Indicators have a few changes & as I gather the information for the report, I will need your help with one of the new changes that I report on for our school.
New at-risk indicator criteria this school year: Students who have been incarcerated or have a parent or guardian who has been incarcerated, within the lifetime of the student, in a penal institution as defined by Section 1.07, Penal Code.
**Let me know of any students that meet this criteria**

R&R Documentation
When students access R&R services we collect data to be used in monitoring their IEP progress. It is also used to help develop their behavioral support programming. A critical part of that data is the use of R&R passes. The information provided by teachers is collected and put into our data system. When a student comes to R&R they should have an R&R pass. Staff will then provide the appropriate service based on information on the pass. For example, without a pass, a student who needs a cool down break may tell us they are having a good break. Instead of a discussion about coping strategies, and bean bag time they would likely get Legos and a skittle. If you need passes please let the R&R staff know and they will be happy to provide you more.
