Liberty Park Elementary School Newsletter
Week of May 25th - Last Week of School
Dear Liberty Park Families,
I hope that you and your family had a Happy Memorial Day! In addition to honoring those that have made the ultimate sacrifice for the freedoms enjoyed by Americans, Memorial Day has long coincided with the release of school and beginning of summer. This shortened, 4-day week will be the last of the 19-20 school year for Liberty Park and MSD Warren Township. I want to say thank you to the students, staff and community for your flexibility, understanding and support of all that occurred during the 2019-2020 school year. Below are a few reminders as we wrap up this school year.
- All LP students will be allowed to use their district assigned device over the summer. If you will not be attending Liberty Park next year, you can turn your device in during the materials pick up the first week of June or Monday - Friday from 11:00 - 1:00 at the Walker Career Center, Door 70.
- Starting Wednesday, June 3rd we will be distributing student's personal items, including end of year reports cards, and collecting textbooks and library books via a drive-through service at the Liberty Park car rider line. Our distribution will be on three dates depending on your students last name. Last names A-M will be Wednesday, June 3rd from 12-6 pm, last names N-Z will be Thursday, June 4th from 12-6 pm, and Friday, June 5th, 9 am-12 pm will be a make up day.
- Early in June, we will be mailing grade level summer learning packets to all students in grades K-8. These packets will focus on essential math and reading skills as well as social-emotional skills. Students will receive an incentive for completing their packet upon returning it to school in the fall.
As always, I thank you for your continued support of Liberty Park Elementary! Have a great summer and please be safe.

SCHOOL DISTRICT PUBLICATIONS/NEWS MEDIA USE
The occasion may arise when the school district wants to recognize your child or your child's school. This may include your child's photo, your child's name or your child's work in district publications, newsletters, on school district websites, and in electronic/social media or in staff training videos. We may also want to tell the media (including newspapers, television, and radio) about your child's achievements. We never knowingly release information about a student to anyone who wants to use it for commercial/political purposes. However, we will honor your request to not include your child in these types of recognitions if you notify your child's school office in writing that you do not want this type of information released.
