Tiger Family Newsletter 8/16/21
All the important deets to stay in the know!
May It Be of Benefit
Hello Families,
Here we go! Monday, August 16th is day #1 of 180 instructional days. That is 180 precious opportunities to learn and grow together. We as a staff are committed to making Shasta Meadows a place filled with laughter, passion, and learning. We believe in fresh starts and new beginnings. Our school mission statement is: "All students can be successful learners. Success comes from effort and perseverance, grit, and a commitment to learning." So, students and families, we invite you to come along for a 180-day ride filled with challenges and celebrations, joys and tears, trials, errors, and triumphs.
Students, we are in this with you. We want you to know that we truly care. We get up every morning and look forward to being with YOU and helping you understand how special you are and how much potential you hold.
Parents, we are in this with you too! You are just as important. Without you, we cannot reach our potential as a school. We value and need your opinions, your insights, and your partnership.
With open eyes to see what's possible, and open arms to welcome you back, I remind you that making a great day is a choice that we will get to make 180 times this school year- choose well!
With gratitude,
Mrs. Gold
Parents on Campus
- If you enter the office (an enclosed space) or a classroom, you must be wearing a mask (approved face coverings include masks and shields with a drape...t-shirts pulled up to cover the mouth do not meet the standards of approved face coverings).
- If you remain outside (in the hallway or walkway) you do not need to wear a mask:)
End of Day Procedures
- If you walk onto the campus to pick up your child, please wear a mask if you enter the office or a classroom. To avoid wearing a mask, enter our outdoor hallways by the gates and do not enter the office hallway.
- If you wish to remain in your car, use the gym parking lot/drive-through, and a staff member will escort your child to your car. You can then use the inner lane to depart without further waiting.
- If your child was approved through PowerSchool to be a bus rider, a letter was mailed to you. Please check that letter and/or the communication in your PowerSchool account to find out pick-up and drop-off times and locations.
- Students who are walking home will be escorted by a staff member off campus and across the crosswalk (if they need to access the west side of Yana). They are asked to gather and wait until the adult is ready. We aim to walk them as a group within 15 minutes of the end of the school day (so that you may estimate when to expect them home).
Parent Homework
- Handbook Agreement

August Menu
Here is a preview of September's Breakfast Menu and September's Lunch Menu.
Breakfast is served beginning at 7:15 am. In order for students to have time to get their breakfast and eat it, they must arrive and be in the breakfast line at least 10 minutes before their school day starts (7:30 for 4/5 and 7:55 for K-3).
Once again, our school will participate in the FREE meals for all program. However, in order to continue to qualify for this program, we will need ALL FAMILIES to complete a meal application form (look for it soon). Even if your family will not qualify, we are required to have forms for every family, so please take care to complete and return the form.
