New Student Early Registration
Next week, MISD will hold our new student early registration. The early registration is for one week only. Any PK-5 student who will be new to Lincoln for the 22-23 school year is encouraged to participate in early enrollment April 18-22. We will also host a new student welcome event on Thursday, April 21, from 5:00-6:00. Families of new PK-5 students are encouraged to come get a tour of the school, visit our book fair, and meet some of our staff. It's going to be great fun. We can't wait to meet our new Lincoln Bears!
Our AP is Famous!
Not only was last week National Assistant Principal Week, OUR assistant Principal, Ms. Mallant, found out that she will have an article on which she collaborated published through SAGE Publishing. Ms. Mallant is working on her doctorate through Texas A&M University and should finish her dissertation over the next year. We are so proud of her and the knowledge she brings to Lincoln. Her article is entitled "A Gap in Culturally Responsive Classroom Management Coverage: A Critical Policy Analysis of States' School Discipline Polices." Be sure to congratulate Ms. Mallant for this accomplishment when you see her. (You may also want to get her autograph!)
Welcome!
Lincoln is consistently increasing our enrollment. Please join us in welcoming the following students and their families to our Lincoln community:
- Isabelle G.
We are always glad to have new faces in our building and look forward to new friendships.
Bond Info
In the video below, Montgomery ISD Assistant Superintendent of Finance & Operations Kris Lynn discusses the tax impact associated with the Bond 2022 proposal. It’s important to note that Montgomery ISD currently has its lowest tax rate since 2005. The tax impact of Bond 2022 would be a less than a penny increase to the district’s current tax rate, which is $1.26 per $100 of property valuation, for a total increase of $22.75 per year to the average home value in Montgomery ISD, which is $350,000. If approved by voters, the district’s tax rate would increase slightly to $1.267, which is still lower than the district’s tax rate in 2020-21. School district taxes are frozen for residents aged 65 or over who have filed their homestead exemption.

Montgomery ISD Education Foundation Hustle Projects
The Montgomery ISD Education Foundation is hosting its second annual community fundraiser, Spring Soiree, on Saturday, April 23rd from 6-11pm at the Old Community Center in Historic Montgomery. At the event, the foundation will be rewarding a campus grant to one campus and we would LOVE for Lincoln Elementary to win! Our HUSTLE team of parents will be working at the event, selling sponsorship tickets to those in attendance that want to support our cause.
On this YouTube video, you will see Mrs. Ashlock, explaining what we will do with the money if our campus wins. You can help!

We are working hard to maximize each and every minute our students are here. If your child needs to leave early, they may be checked out through the front office by a parent or guardian.
Changes in transportation need to be made prior to 2:00 in order to allow time for the messages to be communicated with the appropriate staff member. To request a change of transportation, either
- Send a note with your child,
- Email LincolnElementaryTransit@misd.org with the note and a copy of your driver's license, or
- Come to the school with a copy of your driver's license.
