Dance, ice skating and other movement-based sports require an extreme level of strength, balance and flexibility. Caught up in mastering perfect technique, while juggling rehearsals, performances and day-to-day lives, it's easy for athletes and performers to dismiss the importance of basic alignment exercises, proper strength building and the cultivation of a pure, clear mind.
The ancient practice of classical hatha yoga helps us to find harmony in body, mind and spirit, while improving flexibility, balance and alignment. This makes yoga the perfect cross training for dancers and skaters.

About the instructor:
Teresa Bigelow has 15 years of dance and yoga training. She received her 200-hour Yoga Alliance-certified YTT from Arhanta Yoga Ashram in Khajuraho, India. Her classes combine the ancient practice of classical hatha yoga with a vinyasa flow, and include breathing exercises, proper alignment for beginner to intermediate asanas (postures), benefits of each posture on a physical and metaphysical level, information on yogic philosophy and time for Q&A after each session.

Teresa offers in-home private lessons for $100 per 60-minute session. Groups of 5+ are $25 per person for up to 20 people. Studio space is provided for a $25 fee. Weekly, bi-weekly and monthly class packages are offered at discounted rates!
