My Magnificent Mt. Rushmore
The Real Thing
Here are some facts about Mount Rushmore to get us started. The four faces on Mount Rushmore are George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Theodore Roosevelt, and Abraham Lincoln. It was designed by Gutzon Borglum. Mount Rushmore is located near Keystone, South Dakota. This mountain was finished in 1941, and if I could design my own Mount Rushmore I would put the following people on mine: Mom, Dad, Grammy, and Pops.
My Mom
The first person I would put on my Mount Rushmore would be my mom, Annahleise Eldred. My mom takes care of me when I’m sick. She makes me soup and crackers. She also lets me sleep for a long time! My mom teaches me great lessons. Mom has taught me how to cook, to be nice to others, and she taught me how to take care of my family and my dog.
My Dad
My dad, Chris Luther, would be the second person on my Mount Rushmore. Dad has taught me valuable lessons. He taught me to be polite. He even taught me to bake the most delicious cookies. My dad loves to hang out with Jorre and I. I especially love it when he makes popcorn and watches movies with us.
My Grandma
Gail Gray, my grandma, is the third person I would nominate to be on my Mount Rushmore. I would nominate her, because she loves to do lots of things with me. I bake cookies with her. I also love to stitch the outside of blankets with her. Another reason is she cares about me. We like to spend time together, and she made me a super soft blanket for Christmas.
My Grandpa
The last, but not least, person I would put on my Mount Rushmore would be my grandpa, Pops or Dwight Gray. The first reason he would be on my Mount Rushmore is he likes to have fun. We like to shoot sling shots behind their house in Summer. The second reason would be he loves me. Pops gives me lots of hugs. He also loves to play games with me.
Wrap Up
So, to wrap things up, you just read about the four people I would put on my Mount Rushmore: Mom, Dad, Grammy, and Pops. They might not be carved into a rock, but they will always have a place in my heart. That place is forever!
