Conformity is key.

Go with the flow not against it.

"People should not be afraid of their governments. Governments should be afraid of their people."

The quote what said by V to Evey in the movie V for Vendetta when V was talking about the government and how it controls its people when he was cooking breakfast for Evey. It is related to a dystopian society because it describes how things should be even though in that society it is opposite, in a dystopia the people are afraid of the government. The quote says that the people should be what the government is afraid of. In modern day society the government is ran by the people and the people have a voice in what goes on in their country. If enough people do not agree or like what is going on in modern society then they have a voice and if enough people use their voice and raise concern for the issue then modern day government will change what is raising concern because they need the people support to operate successfully.

The School of blue Sonnet

Peachtree Ridge the school of blue

Together we all make up a huge pride

We paint ourselves and where clothes of blue

Wel come out to fight and we never hide

We all walk in a rectangle until we hear a bell

All of us students hav to be to class at seven ten in the A.M

When it rings and dings it tells us its too late to bail

Our dismissal time is at two thirty in the P.M

Everyday of the week the food is the same thing in the same order

The assistant principals thinks we listen to them

Most of us stay in the college prep classes our grades arent on the border

Our face says we do but we reall dont think nothing of them

We stay blue in the lions dens

Our school is Peachtree Ride and we always win

The Dystopian Ways of our Soiciety Today

Modern day society has dystopian characteristics throughout how it the government monitors its people. The National Security Agency is tasked with monitoring what their citizens search on the internet and what they talk about on the phone. Edward Snowden, seen by some as a hero and by others as a criminal is fleeing American prosicution for invading the governments private and protected information servers and releasing the information to the public. The information he released giving the American people a view into the dystopian world that they live in. The information exposed the governments ways of invading peoples privacy by monitoring their texts and phone calls without their knowledge of it being done.

Modern socitey is also using military drones that are used to control crowds. It is said that military drones could be hovering over the city of New York in the near future. Drugs such as Prozac and Xanax and Adderall are used to make people more focused and happy in their lives. Dystpoian societies often propose drugs such as these so that every citizen is happy and content with where they live and what type of society they live in. These fiction societies are now becoming a modern day reality.

In todays society there are shows that are based on and contain adultry, gossip, drinking, and fighting. The popular show "Hunger Games" is a dystopian socitey where people are forced to fight to the death in a T.V show that is brodcasted across the population. If modern society has shows based on such vulgur things as they are could a reality show based on murder really be that far away?

Dystopian societies are slowly making there ways out of the great ficition novels and into todays modern societies. Governments are monotoring their peoples converstations and giving out drugs to make there citizens happy. Dystopian socitey is knocking at our doors, but are we going to answer it with kindness or are we as people going to revolt against it....only time will tell.

Eminem: White America (censored)

Lyrics to "White America" by Eminem

America!
Ha ha ha
We love you

How many people are proud to be
Citizens of this beautiful country of ours?
The stripes and the stars for the rights of men
Who have died for the protect?
The women and men who have broke their necks
For the freedom of speech
The United States Government has sworn to uphold
(Yo, I want everybody to listen to the words of this song)
Or so we're told

I never would a dreamed in a million years I'd see
So many **********' people who feel like me
Who share the same views and the same exact beliefs
Its like a *******' army marchin' in back of me
So many lives I touched
So much anger aimed at no particular direction
Just sprays and sprays straight through the radio waves
It plays and plays till it stays stuck in your head
For days and days
Who would've thought standin' in this mirror
Bleachin' my hair with some peroxide
Reachin' for a T shirt to wear
That I would catapult to the fore front of rap like this
How can I predict my words and have an impact like this
I musta struck a chord with somebody up in the office
Cuz Congress keeps tellin' me
I ain't causin' nottin' but problems
And now they sayin' Im in trouble with the government
I'm lovin' it!
I shoveled **** all my life and now I'm dumping it on

White America!
I could be one of your kids
White America!
Little Eric looks just like this
White America!
Erica loves my ****
I go to 'TRL'
Look how many hugs I get
Yea

White America!
I could be one of your kids
White America!
Little Eric looks just like this
White America!
Erica loves my ****
I go to 'TRL'
Look how many hugs I get

Look at these eyes baby blue, baby just like ourself
If they were brown Shady lose, Shady sits on the shelf, but Shady's cute
Shady knew Shady's dimples would help
Make ladies swoon baby
(Ooh baby)
Look at myself,
Lets do the math if I was black I woulda sold half
I ain't have to graduate from Lincoln High School to know that
But I can rap so **** school
I'm too cool to go back, gimme the mic
Show me where the ******' studio's at
When I was underground no one gave a **** I was white
No labels wanted to sign me
Almost gave up, I was like "**** it!"
Until I met Dre, the only one who looked past
Gave me a chance and I lit a fire up under his ***
Helped him get back to the top
Every fan black that I got was probably his in exchange
For every white fan that he's got like damn, we just swapped
Sitting back look at this **** wow
I'm like "My skin, is it starting to work to my benefit now?"

White America!
I could be one of your kids
White America!
Little Eric looks just like this
White America!
Erica loves my ****
I go to 'TRL'
Look how many hugs I get
Yea

White America!
I could be one of your kids
White America!
Little Eric looks just like this
White America!
Erica loves my ****
I go to 'TRL'
Look how many hugs I get

See the problem is I speak to suburban kids
Who otherwise woulda never knew these words exist
These moms probly would've never gave two squirts of piss
Till I created so much **********' turbulence
Straight out the tube right into ya livin' rooms I came
And kids flipped when they knew I was produced by Dre
Thats all it took and they were instantly hooked right in
And they connected with me too cuz I looked like them
That's why they put my lyrics up under this microscope
Searchin' wit a fine toothed comb
Its like this rope waitin' to choke tightenin' around my throat
Watching me while I write this like
"I don't like this, no"
All I hear is lyrics, lyrics constant controversy
Sponsors workin' round the clock
To try to stop my concerts early
Surely Hip Hop is never a problem in Harlem only in Boston
After it bothered ya fathers of daughters startin' to blossom
Now I'm catchin' the flack from these activists
When they raggin'
Actin' like I'm the first rapper to smack a *****
And say ****** ****
Just look at me like I'm ya closest pal
A poster child
The ***********' spokesman now

(White America)
I could be one of your kids
(White America)
Little Eric looks just like this
(White America)
Erica loves my shit
I go to 'TRL'
Look how many hugs I get (yea)

White America!
I could be one of your kids
White America!
Little Eric looks just like this
White America!
Erica loves my *****
I go to 'TRL'
Look how many hugs I get

So to the parents of America
I am the damager aimed at little Erica
To attack her character
The ring leader of the circus of worthless pawns
Sent to lead the march right up to the steps of Congress
And piss on the lawns of the White House
To burn the casket and replace it
With a 'Parental Advisory' sticker
To spit liquor in the faces of this democracy of hypocrisy
**** you Ms. Cheeney
**** you Tipper Gore
**** you with the freeness of speech
This divided states of embarrassment will allow me to have
**** you
(Huh huh huh ahh)
(Huh huh huh ahh)
(Huh huh huh ahh)
(Oooh)
Ha ha ha
I'm just playin' America, you know I love you

I picked the song "White America" by Eminem because the whole song is about the political ideology of America. It talks about how the government is mad at him because of how he uses his freedom of speech to talk about the government. It also talks about the views of Americans a white rapper. This song represents 1984 because it talks a lot about how the government is holding down people and their rights. It talks about how people have their views and stereotypes about people just because of how they look. Winston had the same stereotype about Julia because of what she wore he thought she was the thought police.

Mini-Dystopia

During football season at Peachtree Ridge High School every Friday the school wears "TRIBE" gear or all blue cloths and lion slippers to show school support. Everyone conforms to the tradition in fear of sticking out of the crowd. This is a dystopian act because it is something that everyone in the school takes part of because of what others tell them to do and they conform to the people around them in fear of sticking out.
