Yearbook
The LTMS 2021-2022 yearbook is well on its way to deliver the moments that made this school year one to remember!
Starting this year, our school has changed to a summer distribution. This means students did not receive their yearbooks at the end of this school year, but instead yearbooks will be distributed in the summer/fall. This allows us to include more photos from end of the year events and spring sports! This change has been made in order to create the most comprehensive, amazing yearbook, but also to align with the high school which switched to a summer distribution as well.
We are planning a couple distribution days/times in August. Any student who does not pick up his/her book at those times will be given their yearbooks at the start of the new academic year. There may be a few extras available! Please email Mrs. Rohrer (brohrer@loyalsocklancers.org) to purchase a 2021-2022 yearbook for $20.
There are a handful of 2019-2020 and 2020-2021 LTMS yearbooks still available! Please see Mrs. Bartley in the middle school office if you are interested in purchasing a book from a previous year for $15! #LetsRewind #LancerPride

Everybody Trout
Thanks to the Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission, Mr. Thomas’s class was able to take part in the Trout in the Classroom Program this year. 🎣
The Fish and Boat Commission sent us Rainbow Trout Eggs from their hatchery in January, and we were able to raise the trout in our aquarium until June 3, when we released them at the confluence of Little Pine and Big Pine in Waterville. 🌲⛰

Summer School
LTMS is in the midst of our Summer FUNdamental Camp this summer through July 22, 2022. This is a five-hour, five-week program for our incoming sixth graders and current Loyalsock Township Middle School students. Students receive individualized and empowering literacy, math and science/social studies instruction and were a part of fun activities like history, art, sports, music, service projects, and weekly field trips to the Little League Museum, Camp Susque, Reptiland, Hiawatha and Penn College of Technology among others. Students were also provided free breakfast and lunch daily.
Course Recovery
Below is the link to a 2022 Abbreviated/Credit Recovery summer program. These courses are in addition to the summer school opportunity above for students who did not pass two or more courses during the school year.
6th Grade & New Student Orientation
Orientation for students new to the middle school has been scheduled for Wednesday, August 24, 2022 from 11:00 AM - 12:30 PM. Students will attend sessions where they will have opportunities to tour our campus, participate in various learning activities, eat in the cafeteria, and meet some of their teachers and classmates.
Mr. Lorson - Athletic Director
LTMS is excited to introduce Mr. Ben Lorson to our students and community as our Athletic Director at LTSD. Mr. Lorson grew up in Montoursville and attended Michigan State University for both is undergraduate and graduate degrees. He has spent much of the last twenty years in classrooms in Michigan and more recently, Pennsylvania. He has supported high school and middle school athletics in our district in many roles from scorekeeper to announcer. He arrives in the position coming from his last post as our high school physics teacher. Mr. Lorson brings a love of athletics and learning to his new role. We look forward to him continuing the tradition of excellence he personally has demonstrated as well as the historical excellence of LTSD athletics. His office will be located in the middle school in the A hallway by the gymnasium. Please do not hesitate to introduce yourself. Mr. Lorson reminds students, “Be present and accountable in all of your classes so you can show off all of your skills on the field! I am looking forward to working with all of our students and families to continue the tradition of Lancer excellence!”
Ms. Brobst - Athletic Trainer
Ms. Jenna Brobst is the new athletic trainer for LTSD. She graduated from Lock Haven University with a Masters in Athletic Training this past spring. She completed clinical rotations and internships with Shippensburg University, Lock Haven University, Williamsport Area High School, Central Mountain High School, Big Spring High School, and various related health professions. She grew up around sports and her favorite sports are football and wrestling. If you know the Big Spring area, they are their 2 biggest sports so it is no surprise. She is a Philadelphia Eagles fan, so she's hopeful too many won't hold that against her. She looks forward to getting to meet everyone and getting to know the student-athletes. Anything she does will always be in the best interest of the student-athlete!
Athletics
Any student intending to participate in junior high or high school athletics MUST PREREGISTER through the Big Teams system, and submit a health physical completed after June 1st. Athletes may not participate until the ENTIRE registration and health physical process is completed. Online registration is open now. Section 6 - Health History MUST be completed prior to the physical for the doctor to review. The district is hosting physicals on Thursday, August 4th for any interested student who still needs one completed. Please contact Shannon Butters at 570-326-3581 ext. 1300 to schedule an appointment. Football heat acclimation and golf begins on August 8th while all other fall sports begin on August 15th. Remember, the registration process must be completed and approved before your student may begin practice.

If you do not see this button, you must complete the form again for each school year.
Please click here for detailed instructions. If you have not yet played a sport, please click here to log in to your students account. Important: Do NOT create a new student account. Student accounts have already been created by the Athletic Department. Your student can log in to their account using their school email and the password "bigteams" Once logged in, they should click on Link Accounts and send an invite to the parents' email or cell that will be completing the online registration. Once the invitation is received by the parent, please click on the link and you will be guided to create your parent account and complete/sign the required athletic forms.
